I was absolutely delighted with this magnificent hotel; myself and my family stayed in the Junior Suites, which were exquisite. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and the breakfasts were very good and included a wide variety of products.
I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone that is looking for a luxurious stay whilst visiting Lake Garda; it is definitely the best in the area.
Looking forward to my next visit :)

This hotel is in a great location, right in the center of town but on the 2nd floor we did not hear a sound. The room was amazing. We had a 3 piece suite and a huge bed and the bathroom was the size of a usual room
Breakfast was good for a 3 star, plenty of bread, eggs cooked to your request and fruit and yogurt as well as ham and cheese.
Staff were excellent, very helpful and cheerful.

Room Tip: The 2nd floor is good, because its not right over the bar. Breakfast room is on the 1st floor so ver...

We went on a Treyn holiday to Lake Garda and had the misfortune to stay at this hotel. We ere in a group and put in the dining room at night even though there were lots of tables outside and it was warm. The food was third rate and basically cheap rubbish done to a budget. The waitress was rude and the food was chucked at us. Breakfast was not much better with a miserable indoor area with no windows. We were not allowed to sit outside. It was even hard to order a cup of tea in the afternoon as they had run out!

I do not want to complain about the reception staff as they were fine, such a shame for a good located hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms over the front have lake views.

My wife & I visited this 3 star hotel that is situated on the lakeside front in the centre of Desnezano .We requested and recieved a Lake view room the offrered a beautiful view across the lake.
The hotel staff we very attentive , polite and welcoming in particular the reception ladies and gentlemen. The rooms were light and airy with high ceilings and very good airconditioning. The rooms were of a standard you would expect from a 3 star hotel. The food was typical of the area and well presented.
Across from the hotel was all the nitelife of Desenzano and Bar prices were very high compared to that of the uk. Expect to pay around 7 euros for a 500ml beer and around 9 euros for a vodka and lemonade (july 2012), however this seemed to be the average price we paid whilst travelling thru northern europe.
Across from the hotel was the main ferry ticket office and the ferry Jetty which gave very easy access to other towns on the Lake.
On a seperate note it would take you around 4-5hrs to travel from the south to the north using the ferry service giving you about 20mins to spend in the resort before you would have to leave to get back.
If I had to be picky about the resort then the only negative i would say was the lack of mountain views, for that a resort further to the north of the lake would be required. We did see mountains but in the distance on what were mostly hazey days with an average temperature of 35 deg. However the view of the Lake may up for this.
Both Verona and Venice are within easy reach fron Desenzano and there were many tour companies that offered daytrips to these places, just pick up a leaflet from the tourist office located in the marina area next to the hotel.
Overall a great hotel interms of location and friendliness.

Room Tip: look at there website to decide on the grade of room, we had room 228 which had a small balcony over...

We stayed in the middle of March and really did hit lucky. The weather was lovely and the hotel lived up to it's name Splendid. The rooms wre large and spacious and the staff warm and welcoming. The bar at the front of the hotel was brillaint and the brothers who run it great characters who are part of family who own the hotel. The negatives , not with the hotel but the Lake are that nothing really opens until easter and as we were there a few weeks before found most places shut. Desenzano is a gorgeous place and the promanade and views from the hotel stunning.
