“Bogoda Bridge.”
Reviewed 12 August 2013

This is an archaeological master piece. This monument is an evidence of the the great Sri Lankan history and his ancient kingdom. This was made of timber with a roof. You find a adjoining Buddist temple and a Viharaya with murals and paintings. You should have some body to explain this to you. I feel they needs more funds to maintain these master pieces.

Please note the heading it should be BOGODA BRIDGE.

“Bogoda Bridge”

Bogoda bridge is ean attraction not merely because it is a bridge. Read abohe but the bridge here

However - the bridge was beaten by severe floods in the late 1980's and the archealogical department of Sri Lanka has renovated it - unfortunately using steel and concrete. Though the appearance of the bridge is not harmed. The bridge looks great when the stream beneath it is brim with water flowing fast and furious! Well worth exploring the Bogod temple just beside the bridge and it is older than the bridge dating back to 1 st century BC. The wall paintings are said to be in the original state. It was supposedly the cave that King Walagama was hiding planning to oust the south indian invaders who has taken over the power in the country. Worth a visit if you are in Badulla. From Dunhinda falls inn hotel at town - it took 30 to 40 minutes to get there by a hired van.
