Stayed here as part of a walking trip. We booked because of the location and really fell on our feet. The Duddon Valley is one of the most beautiful and quiet corners of the Lake District and the lodge is in a beautiful location close to a wooded gorge. The landlady greeted us with tea and biscuits on arrival. The room was comfortable, spacious and spotless. The pub next door was an excellent place for our evening meal and in the morning we were treated to a first class breakfast with excellent local sausages and bacon. We talked to the prioprietors over breakfast and learnt a lot about the area. All in all couldn't fault it. Excellent value for money as well. Only one minor niggle - no tea and coffee making facilities in the room.
