The beach is absolutely amazing, didn't know such deserted beautiful beaches still existed. It was right at the end of the low season when we went (end of October) and the hotel was very quiet, with the two bars not open so maybe we didn't get the best of what's on offer. The restaurants were open but unfortunately on our last night we went to the 'posh' one and waited 20 mins for a waiter, having had to ask for a menu. When it's this expensive, with 10% service and 7% tax on top, that's simply not good enough so we left and went to the beach bar, (you can't see it from the hotel) and for the price of two small bottles of beer, had dinner and cocktails! Room was very nice though and balcony furniture lovely. We went to the village on the shuttle bus and that was fab, excellent local market and probably the most authentic thai experience we had, well worth it. My advice is go, but eat and drink in the beach bar 300 metres to the right! If you want seclusion and fabulaous beaches after Bangkok or Patong, this does the job but wouldn't be for us for longer then 3 nights or so.

This place is truly fantastic. It is located on the serene natai beach far away from the buzz of the town. If you prefer a relaxing holiday just to chill on a beautiful beach without the hawkers imposing on you to sell their goods then this is the place for you. since it is located on a relatively secluded natai beach with only the few other hotel guests you feel like this paradise is all yours. The service is exceptionally good. We stay in a deluxe room. All I have to say about the interiors is that it is very beautifully done & very very clean and if the same is applied to the other rooms which are more superior, I believe they must be more great! The spa is very expensive though & I understand that this being an expensive accommodation the spa prices are justified for the service. Will definitely return here.

Room Tip: Pool terrace room

We had a lovely time at the hotel in Nov 2012. One thing to remember is that the hotel is at Natai beach, and not Maikhao beach where their sister hotel is located. The taxi company quoted for Maikhao beach, and when the driver realized it was not the right place demanded THB 500 extra. The driver created a scene at the hotel, but the lovely receptionist Ms. Nani sorted it out but I eventually had to pay THB 180 more. The journey to the hotel was a bit unsavory but once we were in the hotel we were well looked after. The hotel gave us an upgrade with a loft suite and interconnecting room for us and our two kids. The hotel rooms were well appointed with a comfortable king size beds and jacuzzi in the loft room. There is a lovely pool and kids pool which is a few meters away from the beach. Swim in the pool, have a drink or snack at the pool bar, swim in the sea, play ping pong on the beach, or lay back, the choice is yours, and its hawker free. Breakfast was great with a spread of both eastern and western food. We had food from the Thai restaurant at the hotel which was good but 5 star prices. There is a local sea food restaurant about 10 minute walk up the beach from the hotel where we had some lovely Thai dishes. All in all a wonderful place to relax and get away from it all. Thanks to the manager Mr. Manee for looking after us during our stay.

Room Tip: In Nov 2012 there was building work next door to the hotel. It may be noisy during the day in the rooms on the left hand wing of the hotel, that may be an issue if you intend to spend the days in your room.

If you are looking for a place to recharge your batteries look no further. Situated on the unspoilt Natai Beach this is a secluded hotel, just 30 minutes from Phuket Airport, that offers superb accommodation, wonderful food and excellent service. We stayed for 7 nights and were lucky enough to try two room types. We were originally in a Deluxe Pool Terrace room which has its own private plunge pool and is ideal for those who require plenty of shade. We were then moved to a suite, situated at the very top of the hotel with spectacular views over the resort and out to sea. Both types of room were wonderfully furnished with state of the art TV's, DVD players and sound systems. The suite had its own separate lounge and dining area complete with a wine fridge, a bathroom with spa bath and an enormous walk-in shower. The hotel is kept scrupulously clean and the gardens and fish ponds are in immaculate condition. Breakfast offers a choice of dishes catering to both Western and Oriental taste with egg, pancake and waffle dishes made to order. The two restaurants are both virtually on the beach and as well as having outdoor eating areas, can be open to the elements or become closed air-conditioned venues. One of the restaurants offers Thai dishes from all regions of Thailand, some of which you may know but most not to be found outside Thailand. and the other offers a Mediterranean style menu. The executive Spanish chef Jacobo is formerly of the three Michelin starred restaurant El Bulli and the standard of food that he is producing reflects this. From Galicia, with an affinity for seafood , he cooked us an Andaman seafood menu. including oysters, crab, rock lobster, prawns, clams and sea bass, which rates as one of the best meals I have ever eaten. What often makes or breaks a hotel is the staff. Here they are all of the highest caliber from Teera the General Manager to the humblest of baggage boys. Nothing is too much trouble for anyone and everything is done with a smile. The pool boys Don and Ning are really efficient and are always on hand with a cool drink or a refreshing sorbet. All of the restaurant staff are well trained and are knowledgeable about the food and wines that are on offer. If you want to do some touring arrange a trip with Master Jay. A fount of knowledge about Thai Culture, this former Thai Champion boxer will take you to places you would not find on your own and keep you greatly entertained. The hotel offers a shuttle service to Phuket Town and there is a taxi rank directly outside the gates of the hotel should you wish to venture further afield. If you are looking for wild night life this is not the place for you but for anyone wanting to relax and to eat well with superb service it would be hard to beat the Maikhao Dream Resort.

Room Tip: Deluxe pool rooms with their own private plunge pool offer exceptional value.

We visited the hotel in January 2012 for four nights and must say, it was totally worth it! We had travelled about 15 hours when we arrived to the Phuket airport and from the moment we stepped into the hotel car to the moment we left the hotel, we were served exceptionally well. All the staff members did their best to make our stay as good as possible, they kept smiling in all situations, even when it was pouring rain, they just smiled and kept on working.
We had a pool terrace room and we really enjoyed the plunge pool we had. Even the swim during the rain was quite refreshing.
I have to admit that the breakfast could have been more versatile and a little bit of luxury could be added, however, the view from the breakfast tables covered these faults easily – just beatiful!
We ordered dinner twice from the room service. It was good, not excellent comparing to relatively high price, but good and tasteful. We ate twice in hotel restaurants as well. We appreciated truly the limo service they offer. It was so easy just to hire a car and a driver and drive to the “village” to do some shopping for couple of hours, well worth the cost, it was so convenient.
Overall absolutely wonderful and relaxing experience, and if a good offer shows up, we do consider going back. The only downside was that there weren’t much to see when snorkeling since there were no rocks or corals, however, didn’t bother me, just my hubby who is a passionate snorkeler. I truly enjoyed the peacefulness of the beach and the private moments spent there.
There is no way I would get bored here – hey, who would get bored in paradise? Would I recommend the place? Absolutely yes! Thank you so much to every staff member, who made our stay enjoyable, hope to see you again one day. Best wishes to you all.

Room Tip: Pool terrace room (with own plunge pool) was great - really nice and private!
