Stayed for 4 nights , the place is amazingly beautiful but not a 5 star hotel..
54 km from Chiang Mai and the hotel doesn't offer free transportation ( the hotel charges 2500 baht each way which takes an hour and a taxi will be around 1200 baht )
Only one restaurant in the hotel and nothing nearby.
If you are looking for a relaxed getaway - that's your place , riverside resort with outstanding accommodation and pool . All activities are very near by ( zip wire , elephant rides ect )
spa is very basic and the treatment we had were nothing to write home about

Room Tip: Go for the river side executive rooms , watch the elephants just outside your window ( you can liter...

This is a really beautiful hotel, and it's the perfect place for those who are looking for a quiet, relaxed holiday, away from the action of the city. The rooms are spacious and very aesthetic, the pool is very nice and the Cafe is one of the nicest places I've been to sit and have a coffee!
We were there on the high season and had a room by the river, where the elephants go by every day. At first it was amazing to see them so close, passing by just in front of us. As the day went by, we realized it can be a little nuisance to have hundreds of tourists passing in front of your window all day long, plus we started seeing how the elephants are treated, which is not nice at all, getting hits and painful pokes on their heads and ears the whole day, and then being chained on a one-meter-long chain for the rest of the day. That elephant farm is just a tourist machine, by the way!
Anyway, next time, if we are there on the high season again, we will try a room by the pool.
The restaurant is also nice, but not much variety for vegetarians. Breakfast could improve too.
But this is definitely a place to go back to!

Only 5 words: you have to go there!

Why? Beautiful decorated and spacious rooms, gorgeous pool, super friendly and warm staff. Great scenery, nature everywhere, and the restaurant and coffee house both serve excellent food and drinks. The best of both worlds. Looking for peace of mind and a meditative time; you'll find it. Looking for adventure: you'll find many attractions just around the corner.
I wish I could stay there more often!

This resort has recently had a name change "Rawee Waree resort and spa". I stayed here for 4 nights and it was amazing. Staff were lovely and were more than happy to help you with anything. Place is peaceful and there is attention to detail where ever you look. An Elephant camp is literally next door and you can watch elephants as they walk past. We stayed in the "deluxe resort" and had the pool less than 5 metres away from our door. Buffet breakfast was amazing and fresh. Restaurant was great and very reasonably priced. Front desk can arrange tours for you and there are many tours to take part in close to the area. It is about an hour drive from the airport so I suggest you arrange airport transfer for $1500 baht through the resort. If you are looking for luxury and aren't worried about being close to town I highly recommend staying here. Will definitely stay here if I am ever return to Chiang Mai :) I came here with my boyfriend but I would come here with family or friends also. You feel like you have the place to yourself at times! Would ne good to rent a scooter to get around the place.

Room Tip: Rooms near pool or ones with own plunge pool also looked nice.

We stayed at this hotel in February 2014 and had a fantastic time. The location is stunning, and if you get a room on the river, the view is amazing, with elephants trekking past your door! The rooms were lovely, the pool, very nice too. The hotel is located very close to so many activities, it's right next to the elephant camp, Ox cart rides, rafting, zip wires, near the hill tribes, and many other sight seeing activities. It's about a 45 minute trip to Chiang Mai, but well worth staying out of town for. My only criticism of this hotel is the restaurant, there were often things on the menu not available for the whole time we were there, the restaurant staff were not very helpful and the breakfast choice wasn't great. However don't let this put you off staying here, it really is a great hotel.
