Beautiful location, lovely setting perfect for multiple families or friends. Gardens are amazing and the charm of the house shone through. Open fire places were the congregation place and the pianola was a hit with young and old.
I spent a week in beautiful Stanley and stayed at Bloomfield Walnut Grove.
The house is an amazing step back into history and is well appointed with ensuite bathrooms accessed by small spiral stairs. Sitting on the verandah sipping my G and T I watched a miriad of birdlife attracted to the trees and shrubs. The 2 1/2 acres are graced with orchards cottage gardens, a pond which is the home of frogs, tadpoles and fish.
The pub across the road serves excellent food and has a very good wine list.
I went on lots of interesting walks around the village - stunning views and autumn colours from the wide range of deciduous trees both on the property and surrounding area.
For a relaxing, comfortable get away Bloomfield came up trumps for me.
PS great place for a family gathering - croquet and boles on the lawn, long lunches under the pergola and cosy dinners in the dining room.
