Stylish Norwegian place, giving a lot of attention to local , natural and ecological food. A very nice place to stay, retro standard, kind service. Lies in very calm natural atmosphere, ca 20 km outside Kongsberg town.

Had a two day conference here. The staff were very friendly and everything was organised just as requested. Conference room was well set up, and light and airy (we were in the tower). Fridge with drinks was a nice touch. The snack bar was also very good and well stocked with nuts and dried fruit as well as cakes.
The food at the hotel was also very good and nicely presented - although the vegetarian option was disappointing. They just served a plate of vegetables! For us meat eaters we had some very nice beef, although a little too red for my liking it was tasty and tender.
Bedrooms were also very nice - clean, warm and with all that you could want.
All in all I would highly recommend this little hotel who manages to make a conference personal and run smoothly.

Hotels in this part of Norway are few and far between. Lampeland is a very small community. That means slim-pickens for hotels. Luckily, the "Hotell" is a fine place to stay. The hotel has a real family/mom & pop type vibe. They are friendly and accomodating.

My room had some space and was not as cramped as many hotels I've stayed in in Europe. I had 2 twin beds pushed together to make something like a queen. The bed wasn't particularly comfortable, but I was able to sleep off some jetlag. It was quiet at night, and although I could not figure out how to turn the heat up, I was able to keep warm. It was clean and cozy. Unfortunately, there were only 3 channels available, which may well have had more to do with the location than the hotel. The bathroom was tiny, and as is often the case in Europe, the shower was separated by just a little lip from the rest of the bathroom, so you'll want to wait until you are nearly ready to leave before you put on your socks or they will get wet!

I had 2 dinners in the dining room and both were quite good, albeit heavy on the regional meat/potatoes/gravy regiment. The first night was pork and the second night was moose. The hilight of both meals was the chocolate lava cake for desert - something I am usually not a big fan of - but with the mango sherbert it was amazing!

In conclusion - if you are in this rural region of Norway and need accomodations you will be happy at this hotel.
