Have been to this park three times now with our kids aged 1, 4 and 6. They love it! They love how friendly the animals are and really enjoy feeding them and entering their enclosures. It's going to be really great when they have finished it and the kids playground is ready to go. An awesome place to take visiting friends and family to the area. Nelson really needed something like this! Animals are all very healthy and love all the attention. We have bought an annual pass which is great value for money. Really reasonably priced food and coffees. A must see if you have kids and are visiting the area!

A great set up here!

♥ All the animals are beautiful and in full view, the kids can feed almost all of them, up close and personal!
♥ Different activities are offered through out the day.
♥ The staff are really friendly, we appreciated the hand sanitizer at a few posts throughout the farm, and the shaded picnic area was welcome too.
♥ Good selection of snacks and drinks (for humans :)) available at the on-site caravan.
♥ The animals look healthy and bright and wonderfully cared for.

We all loved catching and releasing the gabbies off the little bridge, too. We spent a couple of hours here and it was really engaging and relaxing for all of us!

Noticed the brown sign on the highway directing us to a FARM PARK and decided to investigate and so pleased we did as it was a highlight of our family day with our 13 year old not wanting to leave! The entry fee was so reasonable as there was so much to do there with the large fresh water crayfish to find, eels, donkey rides, farm animals that you feed and can get into the paddock with as they are so tame and gentle and love to be fed by hand. The rare breeds of Sheep, Lamas, Deer and Yaks to get up close to feed. The huge Highland cattle that come right up to you for a scratch with their gorgeous girly names. The Ostrich and Emu that peck the food right out of your hand so precisely and gently. Never before have we ever been to such a place where the animals are so happy and tame, obviously very well looked after. After all of this you can enjoy a refreshment and various options of food for adults and kids alike from the cafe cart - wonderful food so much we went back again later as we left. Awesome experience not to be missed in Mapua, Nelson.

Only 3 weeks old when we visited but a fantastic place to spend a few hours with a 2 and 4 year old. All the staff were friendly and enthusiastic, the animals were very cute, there are lovely shady picnic tables and sandpit, delicious cheese scones and coffee. The kids had a great time feeding the goats and deer, brushing the little horses and cuddling the rabbits. The owners have big plans for building this up into an unmissable stop for families visiting Nelson. Thanks guys!

A great morning (of several hours!) spent out at Animal Farm. Even though it is in its infant stages, it is still a great place to visit. Being able to feed and pet the animals is great for my young children. Walking a huge lama, feeding a baby deer, holding newborn guinipigs. All topped off with a coffee for me and HUGE muffins for the kids. I can't wait to see this place grow (including all the new trees they have just bought). Much appreciated chats with the owners to tell us all about what was happening at different times of the morning and their future plans made us feel very welcome. The little mini buckets of animal pellets were a huge hit too!
