“Unbeatable for a family holiday!”
Reviewed 5 August 2014

8 adults, 6 children ,ages 7 to 12, and a baby spent 5 days last week at Sherwood. A great time was had by all. Non-stop activities for all ages. The accommodation was reasonable although there were a few shortcomings - toiletries which should have been there were missing, the dishwasher was very inefficient, batteries flat in TV controls. However, staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. Overall, a brilliant break and we would certainly go back. Oh, and the weather was perfect!

This was our first visit to Sherwood after visiting the other Centre Parc locations. All amenities are within walking distance and it has a wealth of restaurants that were all of a high quality. The pool was disappointing compared to Whinfell, however it was still fun.
Our only criticism was the cleanliness of the lodge.., it was very poor compared to our previous visits. There were cobwebs in the bathroom and soiled plates in the cupboard. In the living area the rug looked as though it had never been vacuumed.

Just had a long weekend break at Centre Parcs Sherwood Forest for the first time. We took 3 kids of varying ages and all enjoyed it. The cabin was comfortable for what we needed although the kitchen very small. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. The park itself is very large, with some lovely walks and bike rides around the lake. The swimming pool is the main attraction, the slides and facilities were really good. We hired a katakuna boat to out on the lake which we all loved. The Pancake house on the lake is an absolute must, but be warned the portions are large :). We did indoor ten pin bowling, and the adventure crazy golf. After swimming and cycling every day, we are happily exhausted :) would definitely return and recommend.x
P.s don't forget to take monkey nuts to feed the squirrels they love them and quite tame some of them so will take them out of your hand.x

Room Tip: Accommodation near the lake is very picturesque

We booked this knowing it was on 20 mins from home thinking what could be in our backyard? What a surprise a true quality retreat, you would never know how good it was from the brochure and internet. Quality accommodation and facilities, very relaxed, friendly and attentive staff.

My honest opinion, we are booking again as soon as next years school hols are fixed

Just had a fab time here the staff are all so helpful and cheerful except the waitress in Strada. I do think you pay top money for the accommodation and extra activities. The Woodand Lodges could do with a big larder fridge or a fridge freezer keeping beers cold for 6 and enough chilled food proved a challenge also little things need more maintenance ...door handle loose, outside area rather littered I would say top price paid accommodation was more 3star but dont get me wrong I would still return.Lack of wifi disappointing..overall impression parts were a little tired but as said earlier I would still go back

Having been to a couple of different Center Parcs, we have just returned from our first stay at Sherwood Forest.

Check in wasn't great and they say first impressions count so being told off for not having the booking reference to hand wasn't a great start and the trend continued with other customer service staff.

We stayed in the apartments which are in a block with one corridor linking each apartment (as if you are staying in a hotel) but once in the actual apartment, it was very big and felt like its own lodge as had a large private garden. We had some tea and coffee in the kitchen for arrival as well as dish washer tablets/washing up liquid and cloths which was nice as we expected to have to buy our own. The cleaner 'Emma' was very friendly.

The apartments are nice but a little bit tired for the £150 per night price tag. We couldn't get our oven to work and phoned the guest services team who told us to read the manual (the manual says to phone guest services!) they told us to keep the door open and it would just turn on eventually. After waiting a while, they finally sent someone to look and discovered the fuse was broken and keeping the door open wouldn't have worked anyway as it wasn't gas. (there's a surprise). Another time dealing with guest service, a blonde lady told us off for going into our booking online and said she wouldn't be she to get into it for 30 minutes - and?? They really shouldn't be so rude and remember who the customer is!

We took part in a couple of activities; the evening spa session which was £55 for two people was very good and really relaxing. The sports facilities and staff were great and the pool was really good fun.

Restaurants - we ate at Strada and found the food to be excellent.... Make sure you book a table though! The Indian restaurant wasn't so good, it was 'ping' food, very chewy meat and salty sauces- If you do decide to eat here, as someone else mentioned, there really is no difference between the full and half portions except one being half price!

We had a good time, we would go back as we love Center Parcs/staying in the forest, we just felt that the customer service staff (reception/guest services) need to remember that people are on holiday and have paid a lot to come and enjoy themselves so they should be a lot friendlier and more professional. Other than that, we had a fun and relaxing trip and hope to go back to a Center Parcs again soon...but probably Whinfell next time.

Room Tip: The comfort lodges were quite far away from everything and looked tired. The executive style apartme...

Just returned after a 3 day weekend .
We stayed in the comfort lodge so very basic , wasn't expecting the ritz !
All very clean but must say that the toilet facilities are in desperate need of upgrading . They are continental style toilets which are not pleasant and separate from the bathroom which I find slightly odd.
Swimming pool was good and the kids enjoyed the slides but more lifeguards and maybe a traffic light system would be good on the rapids . The amount times people just throw themselves down the rapids with no respect for other users is ridiculous and very dangerous .
The strada restaurant staff were good , food was average , nothing very special but £90 bill may be wince !
My eldest son and husband took part in the tree trekking , this cost approx £50 and they completed it within 10 minutes which I think is a rip off, they then did the big aerial zip wire which they enjoyed.
Sports hall was good . We played badminton , table tennis and junior fencing . We also did pottery painting which my 6 year old enjoyed but again quite expensive .
We have visited whinfell forest twice and much prefer it to sherwood .
We also found sherwood difficult to navigate around .
Won't be returning in a hurry, will stick to Whinfell forest.
