We stayed one night at the Chateau d'Auteuil (less than an hour from Paris) in May. We would now love to add on a few days here before, during, or after EVERY trip we make to Paris. The kind and special hosts/owners are in the process of lovingly restoring the chateau (fascinating to see), but the guest quarters are all finished and the rooms could not be more beautiful, with views of ancient trees and rolling hills dotted with grazing racehorses. Friendly, comfortable, peaceful--the most memorable stay in the French countryside we've ever had.

I went for a quick one night stop to this hotel in September 2012 when we were driving from the UK down to Southern France and were looking for the first stop to be the best way to start our holidays for the 10th wedding anniversary. We could not have chosen a better place. The Château d'Auteuil was beautifully and lovingly restored by the owners, the location quiet and picturesque. Perfect for a relaxing stop and with many attractions not far away. It was just what we were looking for and even more. The hosts made us welcome and feel we were guests to friends, yet in the same time we were left in our privacy. The room was spacious and so elegant that I felt compelled to take photos before even unpacking, taking decoration 'notes' for improving our home...There is no TV in the room but there is free WiFi so really why would anyone want to spoil the exquisit tranquility of this stay with the TV when in your own quiet time you can check online anything you please. The owners leave leaflets with all top attractions near the area.
The restaurant they recommended us in a village nearby was perfect and the hotel host took care of booking for us. We enjoyed a lovely walk in the surrounding gardens and watched the horses. I thoroughly recommend this for couples as well as families and we will definitely visit again. Ideal for staying overnight and going to the Parc Asterix next morning which is 45 minutes away.

Room Tip: We stayed at the Armaury de Kergolay room on the first floor. I am not sure what the arrangements are for disabled people but I am sure by email the hosts can advise.

We stayed here for 1 night as a treat. The chateau has a stunning location off the beaten track with gorgeous countryside views. The owners are in the process of lovingly refurbing the main part of the chateau but the guest quarters are all finished. The decor is fantastic and everything done to a very high standard. The hosts conversed well in English with us but if you want to practise your French they will certainly help you out! We would highly recommend a stay here and hope to go back one day. For dinner in the local area visit le Petite Court brasserie about 6 miles away.

This chateau is surrounded by beautiful countryside and nearby fields filled with race horses being prepared for upcoming horse meets. Beauvais airport is only 20 minutes away and Paris CDG is about 30 minutes.

Our room was overlooking the courtyard and the bed was very comfotable. Meals served on the evening were complimented with champagne to start then fine red wine. The average for our meals and wine for each night for two of us averaged about 100 euros, which for a four course meal and a full bottle of quality champagne and red wine is good value, trust me.

Pol was a great host and showed us his plans and the work in progress on the chateau. We were also joined by his beautiful weimaraner dogs on our occasional walks.

We are currently touring Picardy and have taken in the horse races ( Prix De Diane ) in Chantilly so stay tuned for further reports.

Room Tip: Just email Pol, there are only three double bedro.

This excellent classic chateau/castle was recommended by Beauvais Information centre & luckily they had a vacant room. Our hosts were extremely welcoming and the tranquility of the estate was just what we were looking for, to end our wonderful and memorable long weekend in France. We felt that we were staying with friends. Although the family (and it is a family concern) have only owned the property for about 6 years, the amount of renovation work and attention to detail that they have lavished on it, is remarkable. It was delightful to stay in such a charming and well appointed room, right down to the window shutters! They have many ongoing projects and, as we travel alot, we look forward to returning to such a charming property at a later date. Terry & Claire
