We were a party of 7 lady golfers and we had a great weekend. Staff were very friendly, although leaving one member of staff to run the bar meant there were long delays for coffee when the bar was busy. Breakfast and evening meals were good. Rooms were spacious, clean and tidy. Avoid courtyard facing rooms if you do not want to be kept awake around midnight. Golf courses were excellent, although rather crowded on Saturday. We will be visiting again, probably for a mid week break when it would be less busy.

Attended a golf society meet last Sunday and Monday. The golf course was in reasonable condition, albeit the greens could do with an Iron.
First impressions on arrival was very good and the reception staff were very helpful.
Unfortunately it went downhill from there. Almost everything we tried to order at the bar was out-of-stock. This continued for the two days.
The food at best was pub grub and a very limited choice. It was certainly not memorable. Upon coming in from the last round we thought we would order the sausage and egg or bacon and egg sandwiches - as advertised for golfers. Not available.
The price of the food at the bar is heavily over-priced and as an example an egg and cress sandwich was about £8.
Indeed the staff at the bar seemed to be completely disinterested and did not exactly explode into action to provide the order.
I can not find any reason for us to return to this venue and would strongly recommend you look elsewhere.

Where do I start....... the hotel is so tired, the food is dire, there’s very little staff although those that are there are amazing and try so hard to give a service! We were there the same time as the last review and it really was disturbing! It’s not the hotels fault these people at the wedding acted like this but an acknowledgement from the hotel would have been nice. I brought it up at reception and I got a sort of sorry. We had no sleep that night at all!!
The spa is also dire, Donna is lovely and did a lovely job but you even sensed it from her that the spa should be closed down.
Thus hotel has recently been taken over and is being run by agency staff when really it should be closed until completely refurbished. Hellidon Lakes thank you but you are Hell on Earth

Myself and three friends had booked this hotel for a golfing break back in February for our weekend 8th/9th September. Great game of golf on Saturday followed by a superb meal on the evening, the restaurant staff excellent too. Things went downhill from there on.

We each returned to our rooms, which we were all pleased with at 11.30pm due to teeing off at 09.30am Sunday morning. I was then kept awake until 04.00am by what sounded like people attending a party and being extremely loud. This was followed by what sounded like an argument/brawl by several women and men screaming obscenities. I felt sorry for anyone with children.

I woke at 07.00am and got ready for breakfast which was superb. Myself and a friend however were that tired we could not play our round of golf Sunday morning and both decided to travel home not finishing our competition. I am appalled that the hotel allowed these guests to be so loud and unruly with little consideration for other guests. I will certainly not be recommending this hotel.

Arrived for a one night stay to find the bar full of noisy drunks who appeared to be party of a conference/golfing event. It was a cross between a 10 year old’s birthday party and the terraces of Millwall FC when they go a goal up on the 90th minute. We ordered sandwiches and mineral water from the bar as the restaurant was closed. One of the glasses was dirty and smelled of beer so I went to the bar and asked for a fresh glass. This replacement not only smelled of beer but so did the next one and the next one and one even had mould growing on it The resourceful barman then nipped into the dining room and got a clean, odour-free glass from there for my water. Comfy beds meant the best night’s sleep possible and the full breakfast was a feast fit for a king.
