“A Unique Stay!”
Reviewed 25 June 2014

This is a very unique experience, staying in a treehouse that is very homey! All the tree houses are built differently. We got to choose which one we wanted to stay when we reached there! We looked into a few and finally settled on Rabeang Tree house. The tree house is very clean. You have to get used to sleeping on the mattress because it is hard but after the second night, it was no issue! No air conditioning but it is cool at night, one of the nights was even cold! (Do note it was rainy season when we were there, so mosquitoes in abundance). It is a good place just to bond with family members as WIFI does not work well in the rooms and no TV. So bring some boardgames and books to read! Of course, there are many activities to do around the area. We went cycling and Pinn drove us to the dam.Best thing was the kids enjoyed catching fishes and shrimps in the streams right at the resort itself! Pinn gave us nets and pails to showed us where to more fish. And we enjoyed the little waterfall right by Bamboo House. Food was great! You can help yourself to coffee and tea anytime at the reception area! Above all, Pinn was a wonderful host! She would go out of her way to make your stay a memorable one! Thank you Pinn!

Room Tip: All rooms are unique in itself! You can stay in different ones each night, if it is available!

This place would've gotten 5 stars from me even if there weren't any cats because the design of the treehouses is so genius and unique and the setting is beautiful and out of the city. They also make delicious food.

But aside from the treehouses, the highlight of our stay by FAR was the cats. There were 5 cats and they were the friendliest, cutest, funniest felines I have ever seen. They will take as much love as you're willing to offer and want to be with you all the time, but they are also great hunters and provided way more entertainment than any TV. I wanted to take them all home with me. If you are a cat person, you must stay at the treehouse.

Non-cat people: you'd probably enjoy the treehouses too by shooing the cats away...

Yes, there are bugs. We also saw a teeny snake. But I loved it - it felt a little like being at camp, but nicer and more interesting.

Warning: if you hike the steep trail down to the waterfall and jump in the pond, the fishies like to take little nips at you. Eek.

By far the best thing we did in Thailand

Most beautiful and amazing accommodation. The owners were lovely and amazing, we had some of our best meals on our trip at the tree house.

When we arrived we were the only people staying our first night, we were told to grab our bags and pick any tree house that we liked...

Each tree house is beautiful in its own way, we picked the Moon tree house (the newest one) and was taken away by how nice and homey it was.

I would return to Thailand just to go back to the tree house...

We spent 7 weeks travelling southern Asia and when people as me what the highlight of our trip was... hands down staying at the Rabeang Pasak Tree house

There was plenty of things to do in the area as well... they have bikes to be used at any time... with a little map (that they provide) you can go to a waterfall, multiple bat caves, sand dunes... and a quite beautiful lake all within 30 minutes on a bike...

Room Tip: Moon house or Star House (However to get the star house I believe you need to be travelling with a l...

We travelled for a month in Thailand, followed by two weeks exploring Bali, Hong Kong, and Vietnam but this was our favorite place! The location was unreal and it was an amazing relief from the hustle and bustle of Bangkok's city life (which we had done the week prior to staying here). The food was wonderful: the wonton soup was the best soup we had in all of Southeast Asia and the whole fried fish was spectacular! The activities that were available throughout the day were wonderful. There were bicycles available so that you could bike in the surrounding area to a variety of natural attractions including a waterfall, two different caves, a lake, a red sandy area, a swamp trail, and a dam. The owners of Rabeang Pasak went out of their way to make a map of the area, create and mark trails in the area, and took lots of time describing the area to us. It was a wonderful experience! The treehouses themselves were immaculate and wonderfully maintained. They were actually in the process of expanding one of the treehouses while we were there and I look forward to going back to see its expansion. We stayed in the moon house and it was wonderful. There was a lovely sitting area on the main floor where we kept all of our belongings and we never had any worries about anything getting damaged (by wind, rain, bugs, etc). We also had the luxury of doing some star gazing on the deck of the Star House on our first night because it was only booked for the following evening. We spent a wonderful evening drinking a bottle of wine while watching the stars, bats, and a lightning storm that was in the distance. We could not say enough good things about this resort and the people that ran it! We had a wonderful time and enthusiastically recommended it to everyone we met for the remainder of our trip that mentioned they may be spending time in the Chiang Mai area. We would love to return some day very soon.

We stayed in the jackfruit house a couple of weeks ago. A driver picked us up from chiang mai and after picking up another couple, who turned out to be a real hoot, we made the hour journey to the resort. We were greeted warmly by both people and animals. There are cats, dogs and roosters in abundance. The jackfruit house is the first one over a small bridge and close to the public seating/ dining area. It has two outdoor terraces one of which is rooftop. It is shady so if you want to be in the sun another house would suit better. We had the opportunity to view a few of the others. Tamarind is the tallest and has two toilets, one at the base and one inside. It is the smallest house. My favourite was at the back by the river. It seemed to be a larger house but in a beautiful setting. Sorry I forget the name. Jackfruit was perfect for us. Quite high from the ground with a swing outside. It has a double bed with a large fan, a shower, bath and toilet. Towels and some toiletries are provided.
The dining area is simple but everyone has their own private table and the staff cater for all dietary requirements. The staff leave around eight thirty pm but you can purchase beer, wine, local spirits and soft drink and a large cool box with ice is provided. We stayed up late, very late, with a charming couple, Matthew and Adriana. We played cards, talked and laughed whilst on the verandah. Occasionally swatting large, flying beasties and watching fireflies. I would like to thank everyone at the resort for their charming hospitality and for providing such memorable houses to stay in.

Room Tip: Take earplugs if you want to block out cock a doodle doo at five a.m.

We spent one night in a family house (sleeps 5). All the people there are very friendly, Mr. Lee's and his daughter's English are excellent and they are both very friendly. Both meals we had were nice, I particularly loved the toast and the homemade jam for breakfast. I also enjoyed the chickens, cats and dogs, and many of the other lovely animals (birds, frogs, many fireflies!). For my friends visiting from Europe the weather was a bit hot (June), but for me just fine. Certainly worth seeing and going there!

We booked this hotel for a few nights while my 2 friend and I were traveling thru Chiangmai. A few days after we booked we received an email requesting food preferences and travel arrangements, which was courteous as it is quite out of the way. I filled in all the requests for food and provided all necessary information for departure from the hotel. We were paid in full and ready to go. THE NIGHT BEFORE we were to check in at almost 10pm we received an email that they could not accommodate us all the days we have paid for, only one! It's over an hour and a half from the city and absolutely not worth the time for one night. They asked if we had any flexibility with out travel plans and I replied as firmly and as nicely as possible that we did not. We had already made all the arrangements around this hotel, we were looking forward to it the most. They responded back with simply "they are sorry and can just no longer accommodate us." A refund was given but did absolutely nothing to appease my disappointment with their service and general attitude. Paid in full is paid in full and shouldn't be something you can cancel the night before after you've already asked for our meal preferences for everyday we were to be staying. My best guess is that someone that did not book on a discount site and was going to pay more and stay longer had needed our room so we simply got the boot.

The worst way to do business. I'd give them no stars if it were possible.

We stayed at Fern Paradise instead and it was just as beautiful and the reviews even better.
