“Highly recommendable!”
Reviewed 22 December 2011

We spent wonderful 3 nights at the Green Tree Guest Cottage in October 2011. The Porcupine Cottage was perfect for our family of 3. Lezl is a lovely, warm-hearted person and has been a wonderful host, helpful us organising our day trips. She prepared the best cooked breakfasts we had during our 2 weeks' trip throughout SA, and also prepared delicious hot dinners for us, served at our Cottage. The Green Tree Cottages are ideal for families with children, due to the animals and nature around. The proximity to Game Reserves, such as Schotia and Amakhala, is ideal, and the close-by Farm Stall is worth visiting. Our 6 year-old daughter will always remember the morning meetings with Lezl's two baby kittens...
We will definitely return and can only highly recommend! Thanks a lot!

Took 3 of the cottages in mid September 2011 for a group of 6 (3 couples) - 5 of which were visitors from the UK. First 3 days of a tour of the Cape. Lezl (owner) could not have been more helpful during the booking process, and was extremely welcoming on arrival. She provided a nice meal in one of the cottages for the first evening - well received after a long journey.

The cottages were very comfortable, with excellent beds and a nice warm duvet to ward off the still cold nights. Breakfasts each day were superb, I suppose a limited choice if you are looking for the usual (and rather tired!) hotel buffet affair, but excellent quality with a different selection each day. Nothing but compliments from my visitors!

Very convenient for Addo, Schotia etc, and - overall - an excellent and friendly place to stay for the start of my visitors' stay in South Africa. Lezl, you can be proud of what you offer. Frankly, from my own observations as well as the many other reviews, your one negative reviewer appears to be a fool, and thoroughly deserves your response to him. I hope he has not tainted your view of UK visitors - a disgrace to my fellow countrymen! Ignore him - there will always be one!!!

We stayed in The Green Tree Guest Cottages for three nights in November 2010. The room we stayed in(cottage number 3) was finished to a very good standard. Lezl (the owner) was very friendly and welcoming with many tips on what to do and see in the area. She supplied a lovely cooked breakfast every morning. One evening we ordered supper and had a delicious homemade chicken pie. The closest shop is a short drive away however this is a convenient location for visiting Addo national park and the sand dunes. We would use this accommodation again when visiting the area.

we were a group of five staying at green tree during the world cup. when we arrived, one match had just begun, so the friendly owner quickly guided us to our cottage and turned on the tv for us to watch the game, very thoughtful. The rooms are really great, from the beds to the spacious bathroom. As we had a self catering cottage, our dishes were cleaned immediately while we were having a delicious breakfast. Altogether perfect service, friendly staff and perhaps the best stay of our journey to south africa.

We stayed for two nights while visiting Addo Elephant Park. Recommended by a friend.
As soon as we met Lezl and saw the cottages, we realised that it was a great recommendation. Our cottage was clean, very well furnished and very comfortable, with a very cottagey bathroom. The kitchen was complete with all the necessary equipment and a well stocked bar. Landlady Lezl is a perfect hostess. She made us feel very welcome and cooked us tasty suppers of local dishes, served in our own cottage. Breakfast was extensive, catering for all tastes, nothing too much trouble. Bearing in mind that this is a working farm and the hours that they work, We thought that it was a great experience and very good value for money.
The little mini farm of domestic animals, run by Reynard, their son, was just the icing on the cake.
