Stayed in Ios for a week and had to visit Katogi multiple times. The food is truly amazing! - in particular the Jack Daniels pork, walnut/brie/beetroot salad and the beef tortilla. The atmosphere is wonderful, helped by the brilliantly unusual decor. All the staff are great too, and made sure we got the best service - the multiple on the house shots were an added bonus :)

Wow is the only word we have for this place. Everything from the atmosphere, to the service, to the cocktails, to the grilled bread, to the cous-cous salad, to the Jack Daniels pork, to the special kebab to the chocolate cake was out of this world. We just came from Italy, where we had some amazing food, but we both agreed that this was the best meal we've had on our trip, and this is one of the best meals I've ever eaten. I've been fortunate enough to dine in some amazing restaurants, but this place holds its own. Get there early to get a good table and the best food (opens at 7) and it's cash only. The co-owner/hostess had a great quote: "There is no for him, for you or for me at this restaurant. Everything is to share." We fully recommend that strategy. We will be back here again in our few days left on this island. For that spectacular meal for two with a cocktail each, one salad, two entrees and a dessert, our bill was 44 euros! Crazy.

We loved the evening we spent in Katogi. Not only was the food amazing but the décor and atmosphere make the place very special. Yes it is busy but you would expect that in a place that provides delicious meals that are cooked to order. And you should taste the cocktails! We will definitely eat at Katogi the next time we visit Ios.

Sorry but when you ask for a dry rose you get a sweet one. When you ask for meat like small dish you don't get it. We have been there done that ! You should care more about to not have it so busy and helping better even when the restaurant is full.

We were on holiday in Greece on a Yacht and visiting various Islands. As we only had one night in Ios, our captain strongly recommended that we visit Katogi. He advised us to book in advance, as there was 6 of us, and we are so glad we did.
We arrived for our table at 9.30 and were seated in the terrace. The decoration in the restaurant was amazing, an electic mix of vintage pieces. The waitress was very bubbly and friendly. The menu was great, a very extensive meze restaurant and the waitress was very helpful in explaining dishes we weren't sure about. The service was a tad slow initially when we were ordering, but it was a Friday evening, and the restaurant was completely packed. The waiting staff were absolutely rushed off their feet, and the small wait in no way detracted from the experience, as when the waitress was with us, her entire attention was with us and completely unrushed. We decided to order two plates each and some salad and bread to share. Whilst ordering, the waitress said we may have ordered too much (quite a refreshing difference from encouraging you to order as much as possible!), we insisited after seeing the portion sizes that we wanted to try everything we ordered.
We ordered white and red wine and some sangria. The wines were nice, but the sangria was amazing, some of the best I've had anywhere in the world!
The dishes came out a few at a time, which was perfect (I don't think we would have had space for them all on the table). Every single dish we ordered was just amazing!! The stand out dishes were the feta with honey and sesame, the tomato chick peas and the slow cooked beef tortillas.
After we had eaten our meals we were served with some warm honey raki, which was actually very nice. We had some dessert and after again were given some raki (normal this time!).
We were in the restaurant for hours, a slow dining experience, that was throughly enjoyed by all. Of all the places we ate in Greece, this was definitely up there at the top and I would recommend this place to anyone visiting! (And book in advance as it was very busy whilst we were there!).
