Ketogi:

Didn't realise this was the number one rated place in IOS but judging by how busy it was made sense!

There were no tables available when we arrived so they offered us complimentary shots whilst we waited .

The service and friendliness was second to none! Unfortunately given out lateness a lot of the meals were unavailable.

Personally the jack Daniels pork was way to smokey and tasted like pure alcohol. The stuffed eggplant with slow cooked meat was good... Not as good as the traditional mince however!

It is definitely modern Greek! Wasn't the best... Wasn't the worst!

As mentioned though the staff are so lovely... Theodora giving us all hugs and kisses by the time we left!

Went to several highly rated places on IOS, but this was the very best. Subtle delicious flavors in a range of mezedes. Cocktails were also very good. Lovely place, delightful service. Book ahead during peak times.

We were lucky to get a table at Katogi, but if you aren't in the area for long it would be worthwhile to book. We attempted to find this place on the Monday but struggled and when we finally did, it appeared to be closed down but the man in the tattoo parlous informed us it was just closed - therefore perhaps check opening times.
The service was a little slow and the waitress apologised as they were a member of staff down - they forgot about our order or pitta bread but gave us a free beer to make up for it. The food was delicious and the restaurant in general was quirky and niche which makes a change from regular Greek tavernas/restaurants. Worth a visit.

We had two nights in Ios and were lucky enough to visit Katogi on the first night. After that dinner, we had no hesitation in booking in for the following night. As others have noted, the interior is filled with eclectic retro knick knacks that are guaranteed to raise a smile. The music also belongs to another era. We liked it a lot. Winners on the menu front were the Jack Daniels pork (there's a reason it's been there for 9 years), the meat balls, and the caramel cheesecake (we thought the chocolate soufflé we had on the first night couldn't be beat as a dessert - but we were wrong). On the second night, we worked out way through 6 of the cocktails before dinner. All were excellent. Service was efficient, friendly, but not obtrusive. This place rocks.

First of all the greatest tip is to book a table one day before or else you wont find one. Katogi seems to be very popular and mostly this is because of its unique decor, cool service and traditional greek food with a twist. You will been served by the greek Amy Winehouse in a much taller version and enjoy greek meze in a small beautiful yard. Don't forget to order "bougiourdi" one of the best i have ever tried. The menu will satisfy both meat lovers and veggie's.
Also take pictures!!
