“Excelent beach,”
Reviewed 29 December 2011

The trip from chora is not easy, a winding road climbing the slope of the mountains. The water and the bay are exelent for children, ity looks like a pool. 1 decent taverna I have tried and another a the other end.

“Manganari bay and Christos Taverna.”
Reviewed 21 December 2011

This is a very large bay area, split into four parts.I find if you eat or drink at Christos Taverna, then there is no charge for the sunbeds brollies or washrooms, and your right infront of the best part of the bay, well, I think so, but there is a lot to explore in the Manganari bay area.Have fun.

“Excellent, quiet beach”
Reviewed 24 August 2011

You're already away from it all on Ios so grab a car and get away from it a little more. You need a car to get here so this place stays very quiet. We typically don't like it this quiet but it was a very cool place. There are two main beaches (you can walk between them) and a couple of little restaurants where you can grab a snack or adult beverage. Like a lot of beaches in Greece you will have to pay someone, you wonder who sometimes, for a beach spot with a couple chairs and a table. You can bring all your own stuff and find a spot for free but why not support the locals. I thinks it's about $10 for a nice little table with a tiki style cover and two chairs. The water was cooler than I expected but very swimable, if that's a word. The drive here is beautiful on remote Island roads that are paved and in decent shape. It's a bit of a drive but we stoped quite a bit, you could probably get there in an 1 1/2 hours if I remember correctly. You can't help but think about all the ancient history amongst these islands when you look out over the Mediterranean. There is a few small hotels in the area so if you could stay here. If your looking for a beach day this is the place.
