We stayed at the Shegara for 6 nights during a 2 week 3 centre Corsican holiday. The hotel is on the main road into the harbour area of the town and the road is busy especially during day time. Rooms are however well insulated from traffic noise and the new part of the hotel where we stayed is set back sufficiently to use the balcony overlooking the lovely bay. The hotel room was clean and comfortable with good beds and well appointed bathroom. There is plenty of wardrobe space and a safe. What surprised us was the lack of a fridge so you can't keep water cooled. Breakfast were basic (12 Euros per day) but on a nice terrace and there is a small infinity pool in a nice garden which is very pleasant on warm days. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout.
Car parking in front of the hotel is convenient and if you don't want to walk up to the old town - a steep climb of 15 minutes but well worth it for bars and restaurants - you can eat well in the Shegara's own restaurant. If you want to eat outside however you are right next to the road.More
