“Did the job, bit underwhelming”
Reviewed 10 February 2014

The hotel lobby was lovely, and it seemed a nice building. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. There was a secure parking area right outside the hotel which was well lit.
Our bedroom was rather like a hostel room, pretty sparse and tired looking. The bathroom was a little tight space wise. Despite being tired, it was however all spotlessly clean and we had a good nights stopover. We did hang our coats up to cover the curtains as the lights from the car park would have made it hard to fall asleep. All in all, it did the job for our needs, but I would have expected more from the room even for budget pricing.

I had a good night sleep in this simple hotel. It is located in a beautiful historical building. The room was OK. Everything was functioning. The staff was very friendly. I recommend.
The only thing I do not understand is why I have to write at least 200 characters to have this review accepted.

This is a 2 star`rated hotel. We were looking for one room just to stay for a night after our Alsace wine trip before we adjourn to Lyon the next morning. We got what we wanted for based on previous tripadvisor review: a spotless clean room, a free parking space for our rented car and a hotel near the railway and the Hertz car rental office.

We arrived around 7pm and was greeted by one of the friendliest male receptionist ever met. Becos it was Sunday, most of the shopping malls and restaurants were closed, he gave us a map to show us the good place to eat. We booked a standard room but perhaps due to low occupancy in the 2nd week of Nov, he upgraded us to a family room (One Queen bed + one single bed). Thus the room was spacious and the bathroom was huge.

There are 2 things which future travelers might want to be careful here although it didn't bother us:

1. There are no elevators, and you will need to carry your luggage if you opt to stay in the upper floor:

2. The heating system didn't work out right during our stay. But it was 5c during our stay, thus the cold was bearable.

We had a great stay.

The reception is friendly and welcomes foreigners and children. You can always ask them for advice. We were a family of four in a large room and could park the car we rented.

We loved the breakfast and, the personal touch!

Mulhouse is not the most spectacular of French towns but it is the gateway to the Alsace wine route and the car museum is absolutely stunning. This hotel is near the railway station, near the old quarter, has private gated parking, comfy mattresses, is spotlessly clean and the staff are so very nice and friendly. To top it all it is exceptional value and we will certainly go back there.

This elegant hotel is very reasonably priced, spotlessly clean and run by helpful and friendly staff.
It’s in a very quiet street right near the heart of Mulhouse so a very short walk from restaurants, shops and museums.

So I read the review, mostly all positive and went.. okay, two stars and everybody is so happy.
Well, they are all right!
What a wonderful wonderful place. We stayed one night.
Family room is very big, the owner is charming. He showed up pictures of his travels and a little gem in the office behind the reception.
If we go back to Mulhouse we will sure sleep there again.
Breakfast was delicious and served in a little and cozy room full of charm.
Parking is right in front and, well, value for money! Yes, it's a two stars so don't expect a four stars but everything was perfect.
