“Very nice central location, modern apart-hotel”
Reviewed 3 September 2013

We were very happy with our stay at Pavillon 7. It is located across the street from the main hotel and very good access to central Obernai. All furnishings very modern and our room on the ground floor was very spacious for our family. We were on the ground floor on a semi-main street but were not too bothered with noise. We stayed at the hotel on the return leg of our stay and would be happy to stay here again, or at other hotels within the chain. Very good value for a European family hotel.

I spent 3 nights at Le Pavillon 7 recently while in Molsheim for business. The accomodations were very good and the proximity to the Colombier, where the rest of my colleagues were staying, and the other restaurants and shops in Obernai was perfect. I would definitely stay at Le Pavillon again when in Obernai.

Room Tip: Upper rooms will have less street noise.

Searching through Tripadvisor we ‘went for’ La Pavillion 7 in Obernai (on the wine route) but with some trepidation after reading the indifferent Tripadvisor reports. Whilst the rooms on the top floor may be small, they are very cosy, clean and bright and we really liked room 706. Sadly, after problems with BBC world and wifi, we were transferred to an exclusive room (102) in La Colombier across the road. We got BBC World and wifi. The 2 ladies on reception could not have been more helpful. Obernai is a ‘picture postcard town’ and Le Pavillion/La Colombier could not be better located. Lots of restaurants to choose from. We highly recommend La Pavillion (which is an annex to La Colombier). Breakfast is served in La Colombier for Pavillion guests.

Room Tip: Only 6 rooms at Pavillion. All look light and airy.

Having read all of the reviews, we were very pleased with our apartment (702). I agree with the comments regarding the glass door of the bathroom, a little indiscreet, but 2 young daughters found it very amusing. Very clean, very spacious and beds very comfortable.
I would suggest as 2 couples book a hotel room each, not the apartments as they are one room.
Reception staff are helpful and cheerful. Breakfast good and children are free. Double keypad security on doors into the apartment building.
My daughter says she would give them 4 stars.

Our second time in Room 704 and - apart from a broken shower head, which they promised to repair - still a great stay.

You can see pictures of what the room is like. This time I tried the sauna just across a private balcony. Never known a personal fully-fledged sauna before and it works perfectly with the controls in the bedroom.

Yes, it is true that if you turn on the light in the bathroom it illuminates the bedroom as well. And if you're staying for long there isn't enough room in the hanging cupboard. But we can't think of any hotel bed which has been more comfortable and for us the quirkiness is part of the attraction.

Check-in and garage at Le Colombier opposite.

Room Tip: If they've fixed the shower then I can't think of better than 704.

We have booked an apartment for two couples so we were expecting an apartment and not a room with two double beds and no privacy! Because of the lack of privacy we could not enjoy our stay. However, the room might do for a couple. Beware that some of the apartments are a bit below the ground and lack natural light.

The bathroom also had some problems: there is no ventilator and since the doors were made of glass there was no noise insulation. It also lights up the whole room when you go to the bathroom at night and might be disturbing to the others. Before booking a guest had complained that the shower was broken....it still was broken when we checked in.

The kitchen is too small and you cannot do any real cooking apart from boiling water and eggs.

The TV had problems in the first night and since the hotel was fully booked they could not put us in a different room. At the same time though they offered no other compensation to make up for this problem. TV can be quite important when traveling.
