Two nights in Obernai, traveling the Wine Route through Alsace and Lorraine. The hotel was very comfortable, the staff were very welcoming and solicitous of our comfort and desires.
The dinner was outstanding, well presented and filling, without being overwhelming. There were 26 of us in the group, all of whom have traveled with this group previously and my opinion of the hotel seemed to be echoed by most or all of the group.

This is a beautiful hotel with lovely staff. Unfortunately, we arrived at 7 PM one day in June, and the outside temperature was 36C or 97 degrees Fahrenheit. We were shown to our room on the second floor, which was spacious and wonderful in all detail, except the large standing fan gave indication that THIS HOTEL IS NOT AIR-CONDITIONED. As far as we could determine, it is not cooled ANYWHERE.

Of further note, there is only WiFi in the bar, though it is fast and reliable there. Also, for the last 24-hr hours of our stay, we had no hot water. We had to leave a day earlier than planned in order to find accommodations more comfortable.

We feel that four stars, in an area known to be rather hot at times, should mean that guests have climate control. Dear people at this fine hotel, do try to enter the 21st century.

We were only here for one night and did not dine at either of the hotel's two restaurants. But I cannot recall ever having been welcomed in such a friendly, helpful manner upon arrival. Our room (107) was one of the cheaper ones, but lovely. The bathroom will need redecoration in the next couple of years, but that really is a very minor quibble. Bed very comfortable and we made good use of the pool and steam bath. It's a charming hotel, which has been made by connecting various buildings together. Breakfast was vast and delicious. I hope to come back here.

Attended a company meeting at the hotel. Situated in heart of a quaint old town. The food was great and the service was impeccable. Staff friendly and location very quiet and peaceful. Large room with good quality bedding and excellent bathroom facilities. A great place to get away from it all out of season. Given the cold temperatures outside, the hotel was nice and warm too.

Two friends traveling together - we could not find any room at any inn. Turns out the European Parliament was in session in Strasbourg. We kept driving and ended up in Obernai where someone had just cancelled his reservation at this hotel. We grabbed it and liked the place so much we stayed two nights. Our room was large with two beds (pushed up against each other - typical of "twin beds" in France). Linens were crisp and clean. Thick terrycloth robes. Luxurous bathroom included a bidet. We also had dinner in the restaurant that night, a wonderful meal that paired wines with our food. The wine book is about 5" thick! Service everywhere was friendly and helpful. The hotel has several sections, including one area that was part of the old medieval city walls. The only disappointment was the bar - very comfortable place, but no other guests were there, and you had to call the front desk for a bartender. It's a great place and you can access wi-fi there (not in our room) - not sure why it isn't used more. This was our most expensive hotel during our trip, and also our favorite. Obernai is a charming, historical town, and this is definitely the place to stay. You walk out of your room and you're right in town.

Room Tip: There is a spa and pool but we did not use those facilities. Our second floor room overlooked a cou...

We were so warmly greeted when we arrived and personally escorted to our room by the lady in Reception. Our room is spacious. clean and beautifully appointed. The bathroom has all the modern amenities including a towel warmer, double sinks and a make up mirror.
There is ample parking and lovely grounds.
We walked by a nearby restaurant we wanted to try for dinner. When we asked at the desk if they could make us a reservation there we were told "That is not our property; that is not our concern." That is why I gave them only three stars.
Their own restaurant was fully booked. We had perused their menu but just didn't find anything which appealed to us for that night.
Never has a hotel concierge or manager refused to make dinner reservations at a restaurant for us. Is this the Alsatian way of business? What would it have hurt especially when their restaurant was booked?
Needless to say this seemed incredibly inhospitable and did leave a very bad impression.
Other that that, Hotel a la Cour D'Alsace is great but that really gives me pause about recommending it to others.

We stayed here for one night on the last leg of our mini European tour - after a long slog back from the Italian lakes this hotel was quite an oasis of calm comfort. The interiors have been designed beautifully, the room was large, comfortable and the bathroom a really good size, everything worked as it should and the restaurant served excellent food. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel, the staff were extremely helpful and friendly and able to speak a variety of languages.

Room Tip: From our first floor room we were able to keep a close eye on our car, which was very useful.
