Riquewihr is a gorgeous village in the heart of French Alsace wine country. The views in every direction are magnificent. They include miles of vineyards, rolling hills, castles and, of course, the resident storks. This is a lovely place to take a stroll on the old cobble-stone streets and take in the details of the centuries-old buildings, mostly with timber frames. So picturesque and colorful, it is candy for the eyes. And the original wall surrounding the city is still almost all intact, which I found really cool. If you go, don't miss out on the Flamme Tarts and a bottle of Crement (the Alsace version of Champagne) on the patio at one of the street-side cafes and the excellent pastry shops.
