This hotel is ideally located to visit this beautiful village being just outside the villages ramparts, it has ample free parking and a lovely swimming pool with sunterrace. The staff we met were all friendly and helpful and although we had booked a standard room on arrival we were offered an upgrade to a room with aircon and a balcony well worth the extra cost. The breakfast was pretty much the standard continental affair and although a little expensive the dining room was busy leading me to believe there was little alternative in the village. Hotel is well appointed with a good standard of decor and furnishing.

Room Tip: I think all rooms will be quiet, and although we had a balcony there is not much in the way of a vie...

We spent a couple of nights here in order to have a day bike riding through wine country. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Our standard room was at the back of the hotel. It overlooked a vine covered slope and was very quiet. The room was scrupulously clean and comfortable with a hospitality tray. The hotel has ample parking and was just a few minutes walk from the centre of the historic town, and also handy for the Grand Cru footpath and bike paths. Breakfast was good. Although a little expensive. The hotel does not have an in-house restaurant but there is choice in town. We can recommend Taverna Alsacienne for good food at modest prices.

The location of the hotel is good for exploring Riquewihr and other nearby villages; including the route des vins.

It's clean, has ample parking, friendly staff, ok wifi, a very small bar fridge, safe and a few tv channels in english.

That said, we were there for three nights during a hot spell. When we checked into the room we realised we'd booked a standard room with no air conditioning. We decided to stick with it as the rooms with AC were 32 euro more per night. Terrible mistake!

The hotel seems to hold heat extremely well and even after leaving all windows fully open, with no fly screen or blinds down, and the fan on full all night the room just would not cool down. I spent three sleepless nights there which absolutely destroyed the experience for me.

Dear guest,

Thank you for your kind comments regarding our staff and some of our amenities.
I am very sorry that your sleeping experience did not meet your expectations.
While our standard rooms (less than 40% of our rooms) do not have A/C at the moment, I am committing to have 100% of our rooms equipped with A/C by next summer.
I have recently taken over this property and have made this a top priority on my list.

We cannot control the weather, but we do have a say in the amenities we provide our guests, and it will be my pleasure to add A/Cs to all rooms for your pleasure as well as other guests.

I hope that the rest of your hotel experience and my commitment will convince you to give us another chance in the future if your travel plans take you back in the region.

I do thank you for your feedback. This convinces me even more that I am making the right investment for the foreseeable future.

Kind regards,

Mathias Striebel
Your dedicated General Manager

Stayed for four nights in an air conditioned room at the back of the hotel overlooking vineyards. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff always polite and welcoming. We used this a base for visiting the area and it was great to be able to return to Riquewihr in the evening and have it almost to ourselves after the day trippers had left. We also enjoyed being able to relax by the hotel pool. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice from the buffet with the opportunity to sit on the deck outside overlooking the town and the vineyards. A small tip - take a picnic (plus a bottle of local wine) and walk up on the path besides the restaurant next door to find a bench amongst the vines overlooking the hotel and the village. Simply wonderful. Will definitely stay again if we are in the area.
