We had booked a lake view room but given at first a room with no view of the lake. Do the staff try you on? We were moved to a room on the first floor that had a small balcony with two chairs and a table overlooking the grounds and lake. Very pleasant. Bedroom also has a table and two chairs and is large, the bathroom is spacious and the toilet is separate.

The main Chateau has a good bar, lounge and a Michelin one star restaurant. We did eat in the restaurant one evening but must say we were disappointed and unfortunately that night none of the staff spoke English so could not help us out with the menu.

It is in the countryside and I would recommend you have a car if you want to visit Biarritz, etc.

A couple of negatives:-

Pillows were lumpy and they didn't have any better.

Don't know how the air conditioning would be over a hot period it didn't seem to work that well.

Room Tip: There is no spa but a gym, sauna,Turkish/steam room, pool - all very good.

The hotel is right off the highway, but somehow, once you take the turn off, you are deep in the country side. It is very pretty and very peaceful. The main reception building feels like a 1920s hide-away -- which is what it was. The room was enormous, with a balcony and a great view of the property -- really tranquil. They had a Nespresso machine in the room, so the first thing we did when we checked in was have a small coffee while sitting on the balcony. It was wonderful.

One night, we ate at the fabulous 1 star restaurant, overlooking the lake and watching the sun set. Another night, we sat in the cozy bar and ordered a few glasses of wine and fodd off the room service menu. (The hotel will serve room service anywhere you want it -- which makes wonderful sense and is so customer oriented -- I don't know why other places don't do this!)

A lovely setting but we were underwhelmed by the welcome which was anything but. Also we spent a very chilly night as the room was cold and there was insufficient bedding. It was unseasonably cool but the management should have been aware of this. The public areas would also have benefitted from a source of heat such as a roaring log fire! The redeeming feature was an excellent dinner. We were dissappointed overall.

Room Tip: Not Monastir. As already mentioned it was cold. Also tired and no outlook. Assume rooms on lakeside...

We stayed here after our wedding in Bordeaux and found it to be a tranquil piece of heaven.Very large and well appointed rooms overlooking the lake with beautiful bathrooms all impeccable . The staff were very kind and helpful without being obtrusive but the real jewel in the crown was the fabulous food.An exceptional hotel...well be back.

This place is absolutely stunning! We were upgraded (without asking) to a beautiful suite with views of the lake and grounds of the hotel. The bed was the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in!! The staff were fantastic. We ate in the restaurant and it was excellent value for money with simply delicious food. The only downside for us was the weather being extremely windy but that can't be helped. Overall, I could not recommend this venue enough. It was so relaxing and just a short taxi ride from Biarritz.

We walked into Chateau Brindos and were welcomed by the charming Emilie. From that moment it seemed like we were enveloped in comfort, wrapped up and cocooned from the world in the luxurious, sumptuous surroundings of this fairytale place.
Just minutes from Biarritz, a haven of peace and quiet awaits the visitor, with rooms decorated in French style of the highest order, with stunning furniture and lavish, richly coloured fittings.
The entire team at this magnificent hotel are splendid; highly professional, ever helpful. Being a guest here was one of my greatest hotel experiences of 2012. I would go out of my way to stay here again; Monsieur Blanco has every reason to be proud of the exceptional people who run this superb establishment.

Just a stunning chateau, from the moment you drive on the winding entrance road you feel you entering a film set! We stayed here myself, husband, our 7 year old daughter and two large dogs! We were using as a stop over en route to Spain! The staff from arrival were simply amazing could not thank them enough, my husband became really quite ill with a virus, they bent over backwards, sent straight away for a doctor who was there in minutes and even the chef specially prepared soup and delivered to our room! The rooms are stunning, the grounds, the lake, the outdoor pool area. Cannot fault anything. The best point however is the restaurant... One word...wow!!!! If anyone ever wants to propose..this is the place!!! Silver service with a view of the lake, tea light lanterns hanging from the trees..amazing!!! Thank you!!!
