We stayed as a party of two families (5 people) and organised it all online. Odile was very helpful and, despite being a little concerned at paying 100% deposit prior to arrival, our expectations were well exceeded when we got there. Arriving prior to check in time, the manager gave us towels and access to a change room so we could all go and swim at the very tranquil (if a little commercially busy) beach a 100 metres away. Our rooms (32 and 31) were perfect - a balcony in 31 (for two people) and a sea view in 32 (for three). There are good blinds in the rooms so you can get a quality sleep, plus air conditioning. There were croissants in the lobby free of charge, left over from breakfast - a nice generous gesture.

What made this visit special was the staff. They were genuinely kind and helpful - even the ones I passed in the corridor at 8am when they were on their way to behind the scenes work. The hotel is also pet friendly. We loved seeing a dog arrive in the room next to ours. It made for an intimate and enjoyable experience that is so often lacking in larger and more commercial hotels.

Restaurants, the aquarium, the observation tower from 1860s (don't miss this) and the beach are all metres from the front door. This hotel is # 1 for location but does not use this as an excuse to not be great in its own right. We will be back!

Room Tip: The non sea view rooms are also good. #32 (for three) is wonderful.

Be very careful when booking this hotel as on most booking sites it is non refundable full payment . My husband is disabled and we realised after booking they have no restaurant which made our one night stay impossible. Despite 6 weeks notice of the error the director of the hotel has only agreed to refund half the room cost so is clearly desperate for money. This despite the booking agencies best efforts to help. Lesson learned beware when booking!

Old style very charming all updated making the bedrooms small but very comfortable good beds and linens towels good quality but weird shower with no curtain hence wet floor ?
If you want a sea view there is a hefty sum to pay but the side rooms are pleasant and you can still see the sea
Nice town oysters super but those moules are meaty
Enjoyable stay

With the end of our holiday in France we just wanted somewhere to enjoy the last of the summer sun we are likely to get. The hotel is comfortable and although we didn't have a front sea-view room we had a side room but could still see the sea. Staff were polite and most helpful.
The fabulous beach 2 minutes round the corner.
We would highly recommend this hotel and will be returning next year

Room Tip: Sea view with balcony would be 1st class

The hotel is one of the best locations in Arcachon! Although the hotel is quite old, the room is not modern, the location is so convenient to the beach, that impress me so much! It's take a couple of minutes to walk from train station to the hotel, but it just take a few steps to the beach!
