We stayed on this hotel on the way back from a three week touring holiday in north west Spain.
I think we were spoiled price and quality wise in Spain.
The hotel looked expensive in its category. Room size, clealiness and room quality were below Spanish standards. The price was almost double those in Spain. This hotel made us very happy.... that we spent our holiday in Spain, hopefully helping our little bit to get the country out of recession.
We tried to shop around, given that there are a lot of hotels in Arcachon, but there is a cartel. Prices were the same for all 3 star hotels, and the same happened with 4 star hotels. Probably, Arcachon is one of the (few?) places were internet prices are below prices you can get on the spot during the shoulder or low tourist seasons.
With respect to the hotel itself the rooms are pretty small. The wall paper in the bathroom was peeling off which made it feel dirty. The night reception staff was nice and friendly. He pointed us to streets with free parking. We found a place close to the hotel, some 200 yds, but I wonder what it will be like in the high season.
