Great little hotel, stayed here en-route back to Calais (approx 9 hours drive) - arrived late afternoon , easy to find great location. Car parking at the rear & secure as all locked up after 2200hrs. The lady & gentlemen (sorry forgot names) really helpful. No English spoken, a liitle Spanish & obviously French!
The Hotel dates well back some 200 years +. Rooms (triple) were clean, comfortable & ideal for a stop-over. €78.00 including breakfast, good b/fast!
Hotel restaurant not open (time of year) however walk left out of hotel (5 min stroll) over the bridge and you are in Dax centre. Lovely place & next time we will make an extra day & stay over. Plenty of restaurants in Dax. One to suggest which was excellent - Restaurant Creperie , 20, Place Marechal Joffre, Place du Sablar, Dax. (walking back to hotel go back over bridge first left 500 metres on right just past bar which is also a bookies!) really friendly, great food & €55.00 three people with bottle of wine. All round, Hotel, visit to Dax & restuarant great end to a Xmas vacation.
PS: Thank you to the people who reviewed via T.A b4 our stay - shows T.A. works!

Room Tip: If one has a large family or young family therea re chalets which I believe cater for four.

Hotel is very convenient for the town with secure parking but the parking is very stressful getting into from the busy main road with various no left turns at the spot.
Welcome and breakfast were lovely. However, we should have pre-inspected the room as there was no door on the shower/toilet cubicle, just a curtain, no shower hook or shelf so it took some manoeuvering to hold the shower head and soap at the same time.
The road noise at the back was intrusive so we had to close the windows and it was possible to hear people in adjacent rooms.

Room Tip: Inspect the room first because of no door on the toilet and pre-plan your route into the parking from the other end of the town to avoid the no-left turns at the busy junction and turning into the parking.

We stopped for one night on our return trip to Calais from southern Spain. The hotel is located on the edge of Dax, with the town centre being a short five minute walk away across the bridge. There is courtyard parking which gets very full. Our family of four had two double beds with separate toilet and shower. The bed was hard and new and resulted in a great night's sleep - except for the binmen at 5.00am but that could happen anywhere. An open window and portable fan ensured the room was cool in the August heat. Dax is a charming town and a curious mix of designer shops adjacent to streets in need of a facelift. We didn't make use of breakfast. The rate of Euro67 for a quad room was great value for money. No English spoken by the very friendly couple who run it. I feel slightly mean giving an overall rating of 4 but it really is excellent value for money.

Hotel is situated on main road. A short walk down into Dax with many restaurant and eateries available. We were on a motorcycle tour and secure parking is a must for us. The hotel offered us undercover parking within a car park that was securely locked at night, excellent!

Room Tip: Rooms are quirky - 17th century building with modernized facilities-on first inspection odd.
