Les Hirondelles at Taire du Grel is the perfect location to explore the Domme area in the Dordogne region of France. A picturesque setting where peaceful quiet relaxation can be mixed with fun and action on and in the river, local lakes and waterfalls. Beautiful, practical accommodation with everything we needed for our stay. Our hosts were on hand to help with the best places to visit, eat and drink and we particularly enjoyed our evening at The Auberge de la Rode in beautiful Domme. Fosto's is essential for ice creams and for a fun night out (with more food than you have ever seen) Losmoz for food and bowling near Sarlat. Also recommended is Le the Vert cafe at Daglan where the very friendly hosts served our large party and welcomed out dogs too. Ben and Maria provided our group with expert kayaking and canoeing tuition and we all enjoyed a wonderful trip down the river including my 80-year-old mother. Don't miss the view point over Domme, follow the city wall along to the Windmill from more stunning vistas. For star gazers the location provides the opportunity to see the night sky with no light pollution and even shooting stars. The pool is a fantastic asset, clean, easily accessible to all and providing a refreshing and fun time in a stunning location. Thank you for a fantastic stay all at Taire du Grel I am sure we will be back.

Travelled to France with my family for my dads 60th.
My parents absolutely loved the location.
Driving in from the airport we found some picturise stops.
The gite was perfect, three big bedrooms, which were decorated lovely. Fully equipped kitchen , and a big dining table and nice living room area.
Spent time sitting out eating breakfast and drinking wine on our patio area which looked out into beautiful countryside.
Pool was bigger then we expected and we where the only guests using it.
The gite had all the little essentials you need , like tea, coffee etc and also a bottle of wine for our arrival.
This area in France is so lovely and we went on trips every day.
Definately plan to go back , we all loved our time here!
We had a great week in Taire Du Grel, we stayed in Les HIrondelles, with 3 bedrooms and two bathrooms it was super spacious for our family of 4 and a dog. It is set in the middle of the garden with the pool very close by which was awesome. We ate every meal on the nice shady veranda (except breakfast as it was in the sun then). We had the added bonus that there were kids of a similar age in one of the other gite's so the kids had loads of fun. Hosts Ben and Maria were very informative about the area, had guidebooks and maps to offer and even directed us to a little known crag to take the kids rock climbing. The gite has canoes available and Ben dropped us off and picked us up so we could saunter gently downstream without having to paddle back.
I've never been to the dordogne before, and we barely managed to see anything in our week. We look forward to a return visit.
