The best thing about this house is that you are permitted to get close to the exhibits. Often the most interesting part of exhibits is in the detail and you don't miss out here. The descriptions of all the rooms and the history of the family and this house is in French on panels on the walls, but the reception will give you a folder with the exact English translation. Everything is numbered so it is easy to follow. History brought to life! No objection to photographs being taken either.

Its an old high status townhouse once owned by the family who ran Sarlat. It is fully furnished with original furniture and fixtures and gives a really great insight into how people of this status lived in past . The cabinet of curiosities in the basement was interesting and would be great for kids. A very pleasant way to pass an hour or so.

This was very enjoyable and I was given the English Guide book which gave explainations about the lives and times of the past. Very interesting

This house was an absolute delight - a beautiful manor house in the heart of the town, with balconies overlooking the streets offering lovely views of Sarlat. The rooms were so pretty - pale stone floors and walls. Useful English guidebooks - and they allowed dogs in, which was a bonus. I'd expected one of us would have to stay outside with them.
Really well worth a visit.
