“Welcoming Hotel”

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights whilst on a short break to the Dordogne, the rooms were clean and comfortable with table and chairs outside. The owner was very good and nothing was too much trouble. The meals in the restaurant were excellent and varied.

The owner came out to greet us. Her trusty watch dog joined her too. The main building and grounds are nice to see. Pool is large, clean. We stayed at the smaller building in the back. Some in our group had large rooms. Ours was adequate, tiny, clean. One nice feature the room was first level, so only one step. We ate there the first night and the food and service was good. Breakfast was also good. It takes about 5 minutes to walk to Sarlat.

Room Tip: Ask for a large room, or maybe one in the main building

Excellent Logis hotel - room good, restaurant excellent and hotel management very attentive. Sarlat centre is only 10 minute walk away. Unable to comment on other facilities as we stayed out of season.

We are a family of two adults and two 12-yr old boys and we stayed at La Verperie for three nights in July. We enjoyed it very much. Our quad room was basic, but clean and pleasant. The swimming pool was beautiful and great fun, and the breakfast bufet (extra fee) had a nice variety and was well managed. Though only one of the staff spoke English, they were all nice enough, and tried to be helpful. The only drawback to the hotel was the location. Being on the outskirts of town, up on a hill, amidst beautiful acreage meant that the location was great for relaxing. Nice and quiet with great food for breakfast and dinner, with decent TV and WiFi. But the "few minutes" walk to downtown actually was a ten to fifteen minute walk downhill, which means a ten to fifteen minute walk back up, up, uphill after you've had some great food and wine for dinner. That walk got to be a problem. And driving into town meant tricky parking. If I ever go to Sarlat again (and it was a cool place to be) I would stay in town, just a few block from the restaurants. Or I'd stay at La Verperie and plan to drive to dinner at the many great restaurants in the area which are not in downtown Sarlat.

This lovely little hotel is situated just outside La Sarlat, providing guests with a tranquil, semi-rural setting, 5 minutes from La Sarlat.

We had a quad room, which is just fine for our needs (family of 4). The grounds were spacious, complete with a lovely, clean swimming pool.

We had dinner on our first night in the hotel's restaurant and the food was very good.

A truly gorgeous setting in beautiful grounds close to lovely Sarlat. We liked the hotel - the pool was particularly enjoyed by our 3 young children. Although the rooms are a little tired, I would definitely recommend it.

My husband and I have just returned from an 8 night stay at La Verperie and thoroughly enjoyed it. The hotel is a really nice building in lovely grounds and is only a 10 minute walk into the centre of the old town of Sarlat. We stayed in room 6 which was on the top floor. The room was fairly basic with double bed, fitted wardrobe, small tv and separate bathroom with shower. We had a lovely view of the grounds and pool. It looked like some of the other rooms were probably quite a bit bigger but we did book at the last minute and the hotel seemed pretty full.We ate breakfast at the hotel most days which was quite good and much better then I expected. There was a selection of fruit, yoghurts, croissants, bread rolls, jam, cheese, ham, hard boiled eggs, orange squash and a drinks machine for tea/coffee etc. We ate outside on the sunny terrace most days. We didn't eat dinner at the hotel as we like to go out and explore different restaurants but it looked like most of the other guests did and there was always a nice smell coming from the kitchen as we left to go out for the eveining. We usually left straight after breakfast and only returned for a quick shower and change, and a beer or glass of wine, before going out again in the evening. The hotel was very good value at €60 per night, with breakfast at €9 per person. I would recommend to anyone who is looking for a nice base to explore the surrounding region and doesn't mind a 10 min walk into the main town.
