My husband and I spent 4 nights at Le Jardin Sarlat towards the end of March 2012. I cannot say enough about the hospitality we received from Wendy and David. The purpose of our trip was to house-hunt in various parts of the Dordogne and each evening we would return to Le Jardin to share our excitement with them. Wendy and David were knowledgable and provided information on the various regions we were visiting, builders in the area and a reliable notaire!
The location of the B&B was perfect - while it was very close to the old city and amenities it was secluded and quiet, ensuring a peaceful night's sleep. The room was comfortable and clean - everything we expected. I highly recommend this B&B!

If you’re looking for a B&B not a small hotel and you speak English better than French, this is for you (although they speak French as well). If you like a choice of 30 plus good restaurants in a medieval town, walking distance from your bed, this place is for you. If you don’t want to stay in the crowd but rather just outside of the busier areas, this place is for you.
This is someone’s home, not a daily rent apartment or a small hotel. There are few rooms and there is Oscar the friendly dog. The house is surrounded by a large English garden, which means there is one of every kind of flower, and several garden benches and chairs tucked beside bushes and under trees.
Wendy and David are there to give you advice, feed you a good breakfast and send you on your way. In the evening they have a drink waiting for you and help you decide which restaurant will top off the evening.
Rooms are bigger elsewhere. If a flight of stairs bothers you, this is not the place for you (although David is eager to bring your suitcase up and down). The building is from long ago, in keeping with the town. But the showers, electric, windows and such are new.

Room Tip: Tall people and those who can't handle too many stairs may wish to be on the second floor where...

My fiance and I stayed here as part of a tour of the area in March 2012. We stayed for two nights in the Monfort Room.

The room was a good size although it has some low beams because its in the loft which we banged ourselves on a couple of times initially but it was nothing to detract from the lovely room I can assure you. The shower was also nice and had fresh soft towels and toileries for us to use. Very clean and welcoming. The bed was very comfortable!

David and Wendy (and their lovely dog) were extremely friendly, chatty and welcoming to us and happy help out with any suggestions for the area.

We only had breakfast one of the mornings because we wanted to try a local boulangerie patisserie for breakfast the next monring. The breakfast we did have was very ample and good.

The also operate an honesty bar at great value!

Overall, lovely stay here, Sarlat was a great little town and David and Wendy definitely made us feel at home.

Visiting from Australia in late October, my wife & I stayed 4 nights. A beautiful house on the edge of town with lovely hosts. Good breakfast, & the stroll each night in to town to an array of restaurants was a great end to each day. Sarlat was a top location for exploring the district & many surrounding towns.

We have been to France 5 times but never to the Dordogne until this last Oct-Nov. What a gift to have Wendy & David as our hosts at Le Jardin Sarlat. The villages they recommended to be sure not to miss, the exceptional Restaurants they steered us to, and of course the wonderful Inn itself with cozy rooms and wonderful breakfasts. The beautiful grounds, and the extra service of following us cross town to turn in a car rental and then driving us 30 miles to regrefully catch a train back to Paris the next day. My wife & I checked in as guests and left as friends.

We really enjoyed our week's stay at Le Jardin Sarlat. So convenient: only a short walk to the "old city" with its nice restaurants and the big farmer's market. Wendy and David were very friendly and helpful, providing tasty breakfasts, comfortable rooms, and a cool garden for relaxing on our off days. And so many interesting places to visit within easy driving distance. We had a great time here, and hope to do it again soon.
