Les Cordeliers Bed and Breakfast
Certificate of Excellence

This property is truly beautiful. Our hosts, Chris and Amanda, were gracious and kind. They went over the top to make sure we found dinner upon our late arrival by escorting us through town until we found a restaurant still serving. The breakfast was a wonderful experience in itself. The Sarlat-la-Caneda market, the surrounding country villages and the beauty of the people made this a fantastic vacation.

Room Tip: Room 5 was awesome. Spacious, view, modern with old-world charm. Loved it!

We stayed for 4 nights in this great B & B. The rooms are beautifully decorated and extremely spacious and comfortable. It is in a great position in Sarlat and car parking was easy nearby. Chris is a great host, helping with planning our days and attending and conversing to us at breakfast. We also appreciated having a load of washing done by Amanda. I would highly recommend this B & B and would not hesitate to stay again.

Stayed here for 7 nights in June,( just arrived home after long holiday )
Very very good B & B with Chris the owner superb, could not be more helpful and very knowledgeable. Not only about the town and surrounding area. He will recommend places to visit depending on your taste. He and his very nice assistant kept the breakfast buffet table topped up. So surprised at a previous review say picked over? etc.(See other visitors pictures.) His recommendation for restaurants were good. The Le Glacier was our favorite went 6 out of 7 nights.
Just enjoying the atmosphere and watching the world go by. Lovely family owned and good economical prices. We had room 6 which was very good as all windows are double glazed.
Yes parking is a problem but Chris will recommend a good car park very near. Amanda, Chris's wife works hard behind the scene keeping the rooms good ,plus clean towels every day.
The only downside is the fairly steep spiral staircase for the very elderly. I would highly recommend this B & B to all my friends. It is so handy you never need a car to walk anywhere in town.As mentioned also Tea /Coffee,biscuits etc at all times.Great center for all the surrounding area, Really enjoyed the Canoe adventure ( We used Carsac ) their canoes had a back rest. They even lent us hats as it was a hot sunny day.Easy to do as its all downstream.
Great Holiday.

Room Tip: Look at Photo's and ask Chris what there is in each room. Room 6 with shower was excellent for u...

Chris, the owner helped us (4 adults, 2 teenagers) with our luggage, recommended restaurants and local attractions (canoe trip on Dordogne, not to be missed) which added much to our visit. All three rooms were very spacious and well appointed. The breakfast could not have been improved. Freshly squeezed orange juice, fresh fruit and croissants, eggs to order etc. Nearby parking enabled an early departure helped by boxed breakfast. Most accommodating to meet special needs. This place can rightfully lay claim to a luxury B & B. Sarlat is a very pleasant town which has maintained its charm amidst some of the most beautiful rural landscape. Thank you Chris for making this such a pleasant experience.

Room Tip: Some bath rooms have tubs, some stall showers. All three rooms were very quiet.

Really enjoyed our stay in this B&B as a family of 5. Rooms fantastically spacious, air-conditioned, which is essential during July, and we all slept like babies. Chris is a most intuitive host offering great advice throughout our 7 night stay, without being interfering and the exquisite medieval town of Sarlat a few steps away. Breakfast was outstanding, catering to all tastes. The minibar area with free drinks and snacks added a special touch after a long day out, prior to going out to dinner. The only negative was that we had baths in both rooms booked and we prefer to shower (rooms 1 and 2). Loved loved loved this B&B, the vibe and ambiance (really very British which I found adorable), added to our fantastic Sarlat and surrounds experience.

Firstly, my review is well overdue, my husband and I stayed here this time last year (2013). I wanted to post a review because even after all this time I remember our visit and can not speak more highly of Chris and his team. From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed and cared for. Little things like complimentary snacks, a great breakfast and brilliant advice on what to do and see made this B&B one of our favourites. The location is fantastic. The rooms are huge with plenty of space and are very clean. For those driving there is a free car park just around the corner. Thanks Chris for such a great stay!

We stayed 7 days at this B&B and were completely satisfied. The location is just one street north of the medieval city, right by the May 8th square (shown in their website). The rooms are huge, by French standards, ours (#4) had a king size bed and a single bed and plenty more space for everything else. The bathroom was very modern, with a large sink to put toiletries and a shower. The service is excellent, we were welcomed on our arrival by Mrs and Mr Johnson, who helped us with our luggage and our choice of restaurant. A nice mini-bar with cold drinks, a modern coffee machine, and the option to do a small load of wash were most welcomed during our stay. The place was very quiet, even if located on a street exiting the city. As a bonus, we were here during Bastille Day and had a terrific view of the fireworks from our window. The total experience with this B&B and the town of Sarlat was beyond our expectations. Highly recommended+++++

Room Tip: Every room has its charm. Ours, number 4, was huge, nearly 20 ft by 20 ft.
