The perfect place for a great "degustation" of some of the best selections of great teas from India, China or Japan, with minute hourglasses to help optimize their infusion time, and with a selection of home made cakes, including the deliciously soft and aromatic chocolate cake made with the best cocoa from chocolatier Michel Cluizel, served with a generous touch of crême chantilly, or fresh zahne, offered by the nice Patron, to complete the gourmet experience!

I have to say, I had high expectations having read recent reviews, all of which were five stars.

Unfortunately, the combination of a) only appearing to serve quiche and cold soup, b) the darjeeling tea we were served being very, very weak, and c) not the friendliest staff, made this an average experience at best.

Delighted to find this relatively new "salon du the" in a surprisingly tranquil courtyard right in the centre of this pretty and deservedly popular town. The owner was welcoming and congenial and we were impressed at the excellent variety of drinks, in particular teas, on the menu. My chosen green tea blend was a refreshing choice for a warm afternoon and it was lovely to step aside from the busyness of the surrounding streets and enjoy the quiet and comfort. Would definitely recommend this as a haven amid the otherwise rather predictable tourist bistros and will certainly be returning.

We found this through trip advisor and we weren't disappointed, the very friendly owner who speaks good English provided us with a delicious lunch; a tasty gaspachio, gorgeous quiche both vegetarian and non vegetarian, even the quiche hater in our party enjoyed his, and lovely ice cream, washed down with rather nice cold tea, something I'm not usually keen on again this was the exception that proved the rule. The cafe is perfectly situated in a pretty quiet courtyard which is perfect as Sarlat itself although worth a visit is rather crowed (we went slightly out of season, in season it must be heaving). We'll definitely go back to L'instant The.

It was such a treat to be introduced to the owner and this hidden treasure!
It is a very cozy and inviting place to be at. A very large selection of teas and cafe, pastry and comfy sofas or tables to sit at. When the weather is warmer outside seating.
