Stayed at the hotel for 1 night, from 12-13 of April.
Actually we could not find anywhere to stay for many km - either fully booked or too expensive (in our opinion); finally we settled here.
The owner or manager is a very friendly man, at some moments I could`t tell when he meant what he said and when he joked :)
We enjoyed our stay here except two things:
1) in the room there was a bit too cold - heating was off, but the weather outside not that warm yet;
2) you could smell smoke in the room although it was said on a leaflet that it`s a non-smoking room. However we did not complain to the owner, just opened the window (and made the room even more colder :D ) and the smell went away a bit.
Near to the hotel (some few hundred meters) there is a small pizzeria that was open even after 8 p.m. The pizza was very very very very delicious and well priced.
Right next to the hotel there is a car parking. Hotel has a free Wifi.
I believe you can get the most of the hotel in the summer, but we found it good also in an early spring,

Clean, welcoming, off road parking, lovely little garden, agreeable if small pool, free WiFi. This hotel has loads going for it.

I'm not sure that we could have stayed more than 2/3 days, however, as everything felt a bit cramped, despite booking a 3 person family room for the two of us. Even the corridors were narrow, and the garden was minuscule, although beautifully laid out.

The staff were very kind and helpful, so it felt good to be there. But there is no restaurant, and the ones within walking distance were a bit basic, or actually closed as this was before the main season.

The biggest thing against this hotel is not their fault. It is the giant Papermill. You cannot actually see it from the hotel, it must be a km away.

But boy, can you smell it when the wind comes from that direction.

We stayed in the Atlantis Hotel for one night whilst driving further south. Our room, which had a pleasant view overlooking the swimming pool (but which was too cold to use, being too early in the season) was fairly small and simply furnished, but the bathroom was of a good size with an excellent shower. The breakfast was good value with a variety of breads and jams available.
The proprietor, who, we understand, has only been running the hotel for a few months, was very friendly.
We visited Mimizan Plage for an evening meal and found it a rather forlorn place in late May. There were many open restaurants, but all with very few customers. We eventually discovered L`Escale Gourmande and had an enormous and saitisfying meal for a very reasonable price.
Mimizan is a typical pleasant French town, although the huge paper mill on its outskirts comes as something of a visual surprise after being used to generally low-rise buildings. The street market (held on Thursdays) was most interesting and colourful with a wide variety of local produce, clothes, plants, etc on sale. The drive along the coast roads north of Mimizan can become tedious with miles of flat scenary, mostly of forests or scrubland, whilst southwards the road becomes somewhat more varied and interesting. On a hot, sunny day, the long, sandy beach at Hossegor is great.

We chose Hotel Atlantis for an overnight stop but it was so pleasant we extended our visit. Our booking was made only a few days before our arrival and emails were answered promptly. Our hosts were always welcoming, bright and cheerful, and their honest appraisal of local restaurants and places to visit was appreciated. We had good meals at both Le Vauclin and the Hotel opposite.
Our twin bedded room, Number 4 from memory, was spacious, extremely comfortable and had an enormous bathroom and shower; it is probably the wheelchair-access room and well worth requesting should it be available. The air-conditioning coped well with the 30+ heat and there is free WiFi.
The Hotel has a bright, airy feel throughout as does the dining room where an excellent Continental breakfast [€7-50pp] is served.
Off street carparking is available and the swimming pool is a sparkling treat in very pleasant gardens.
It is about 6k to the surf beach at Mimizan Plage and the Lac de Mimizan and the gardens on Promenade Fleurie are worth exploring, either on foot or by bicycle.
At €58pn [ in late September] Hotel Atlantis is excellent value and we would not hesitate to stay there again.

This place would be perfect if the breakfast (not included) would be a little more generous. The rooms, pool and staff are absolutely OK. The beach is some 5 km away, but the pool provides a good alternative or extension of a day on the beach.

We arrived at this hotel and the children were thrilled with the look of the pool. Unfortunately, our booking had been mixed up and we were told we could only stay one night, not the three originally booked. The owner was extremely apologetic and had arranged for an alternative hotel at Mimizan plage and offered us free breakfasts. We were put in a small room, but at least there was aircon. The room was adequate and clean with a nice bathroom. The breakfast was good, the pool lovely, the location quiet and with good parking. Shame about the reservation mix up....

The Atlantis was easy to find and there was space for initial parking on the street. There was free, secure parking behind the hotel's garden. Ours was a short stay, so the lack of a bar and restaurant was not a problem. Our room was newly decorated, airy, light and very clean. The furnishings were basic but perfectly adequate and care had been taken over lighting. The beds were comfortable and we slept well. The continental breakfast was generous and fresh. The swimming pool was clean and prettily set in a well-established garden. The staff were very helpful and friendly; we speak French but the owners/managers were bi-lingual. They were helpful in recommending an excellent restaurant close to the hotel, within easy walking distance, even for less than energetic people like ourselves.
