We spent the day on the Ile de Batz for our 15th wedding Anniversay, and it was perfect. The weather was gorgeous. A slight breeze, but warm and sunny. After a 15 minute boat ride from Roscoff, we took a leisurely stroll around the majority of the island. You can hire bikes near to where the ferry arrives, but it is a fairly easy walk with a few hills here and there.
There are a selection of places to stop for a break and lunch, and it is lovely to see Roscoff from a different view point.
Well worth a visit if you fancy a nice, peaceful relaxing day.

About 10mins boat trip from roscoff, it was AMAZING! You can hire a bike for any amount of time up to a day, at pretty cheap prices, pretty much no cars at all on the island, amazing place clear signposts which make it really easy to navigate and not miss anything, you are really dodgy if you don't go there!! No trip to roscoff is complete without a trip to ile de Batz!

As we visited in October the boat across was not very full and the island was very quiet and peaceful.
It was like stepping back in time hardly a car of person in sight and a lovely walk around the island which has good pathways and signage so even though you feel isolated you do not get lost.

Only a couple of cafes and bars open at this time of year, but both of the 2 we called at were very nice and friendly.

It was definitely worth visiting and spending a couple of hours of peace and tranquility.

You need to be fairly fit to visit the sub-tropical gardens here. A long walk at low tide to reach the ferry. A long walk steep in places in gale and rain, to reach the gardens which were a lovely paradise. Then the return journey!
