“A Friendly, Upscale Hotel With Very Good Food”
Reviewed 14 October 2013 via mobile

You will feel welcome at this decidedly upscale hotel because of the graciousness of the owners and staff. Rooms are comfortable and the ones facing the water have delightful views. The food at the restaurant is excellent, though the service is spotty. There really isn't a nice, intimate spot to relax and have a drink other than a small salon and tables outside. The wireless internet is inadequate for the technology needy. Nevertheless, it is a perfect base to enjoy gracious accommodations and superior dining while exploring the Côte de Granit Rose.

This is an exquisite property with beautiful views. We requested a ground-floor room with a seaview, but were upgraded, and how lucky we were! I'm sure we had *much* more space and, because we were one flight up, better views. The room was sooo comfortable, with a king-sized bed and huge closets, as well as a "wing" for the bath. (This is the one place I indulged in a bubble-bath.) We found Internet access better in the common areas than in the room itself. The room was luxurious and tasteful and must have been renovated recently, for the furnishings were in such excellent shape. The staff is very helpful and very friendly. We arrived late the first night (~20h30), and the dining room staff nevertheless seated us forty-five minutes later. Given the hour and our budget (this was our splurge hotel), we stuck to appetizers, but no one bothered us about that. The staff advised us not to miss Plouman'ach, and we're glad we listened. Of course, the Rose Granite Coast is beautiful everywhere.

We stayed one night in july. We had prebooked and we asked specificlyif they had internet which they assured us that they had. Unfortunately this was not correct and since my husband had to communicate with a client by mail.

Otherwise the view is stunning ang the room is elegant and very comfortable.

The service is warm and attentive.

This hotel combines comfortable accommodations with excellent food and a spectacular view. I had booked two nights in a "Tradition room with a sea view" at 190 euros per night. When we arrived we were told that they had upgraded us so, no doubt, we enjoyed a much better room that we paid for. It was on the top floor (room 22 I think) with a large balcony and a view of the ocean to dream about. Fine views were also available from many of the public areas of the hotel including the dining room.
The room was also large with more closets than we could possibly use, and a bathroom and separate toilet room well separated from the sleeping area.
We ate dinner both nights at the hotel: indeed there's nowhere else available within walking distance. Since we were there on Monday and Tuesday nights, they only offered a "unique" menu -- in other words essentially no choice was available. We care about good food when we travel, so at first this looked like it might be a disappointment. But it wasn't. The food was truly excellent, perfectly cooked and well presented. It was not cheap but it was well worth the price. Breakfast was also very good, with lots of choice and a few nice touches, like fresh-squeezed orange juice.
We used the hotel as a base for taking coastal hikes along this striking stretch of the Brittany coast. In particular the famous Sentier des Douaniers is only a short drive away. I can't think of a better way to spend a couple of days: energetic hikes along an ocean shore framed by wierd and beautiful rock formations, followed by a wonderful dinner and a hotel with all the comforts we could wish for.

This Relais & Chateau property is beautiful, luxurious, and somewhat quirky. Our room was downstairs (#7) and to get to it you had to go either through the dining room or around behind the front desk, then down a narrow staircase. It was beautifully appointed, with lovely linens and a very comfortable bed and pillows. The large bathroom had nice amenities, but one strange item: there was no shower curtain, and no place for one. Despite being very careful, after the two of us showered, we had a minor flood and needed to use the bath towels to mop up. Turn-down service replaced everything. In early May the wind was strong and the weather cold. The only heat in the room came from the very hot towel rack in the bathroom. We had turned it off on arrival as it was too hot, but later turned it on and it did heat up the bedroom. All in all, very lovely with beautiful grounds and views. The view from the almost all-window breakfast room is most striking, and the breakfast is good.

This Relais & Chateau property is situated on the Brittany coast in an especially scenic area. When you book make sure you request a room overlooking the ocean. The property is small but beautifully manicured, the rooms are elegantly appointed, and the staff is exceptionally friendly and accommodated. Sure, its not cheap, but its worth whats paid for.
The restaurant has views of the shore and the menu, while limited and focused on seafood from the Brittany waters, offers elegant presentations, delicious flavors, and enough variety to satisfy all. The service warm, attentive and efficient.
We were there at a slow time and the hotel was gracious to upgrade our rooms at no extra charge without us making any request to do so.
A definite must stop if you are touring the scenic Brittany coast.

With the exception of one hotel in the UK this is the first hotel we've ever been back to. We visted in 2012 and like it so much thta we had to go back. It is still a stylish hotel that combines comfort with elegance. Nicely appointed room with good sized bathroom (separate toilet, bath and shower, good choice of decent toiletries); TV, sofa, two armchairs, terrace, food sized wardrobe, minibar and safe. Very good lounge with expansive views. No spa (but that they do offer massages now). The restaurant is excellent with food that is is the epitomy of decent French cooking: imaginative, done with flair and style and panache with attentive service. Breakast was full of the usual suspects and provided enough to keep you going all day. Decent grounds with free parking. A second visit enables you to take a lillte more detached view and be a touch more critical. So what's not so hot? Well the bar lacks atmosphere and is an adjunct to the reception and the receptionist when we were there had had a charm bypass. In addition the bath when we arrived hadn't been cleaned properly but this was easily and quickly fixed. Theeseare minor quibbles and don't in any way detract from the pleasure of staying. There are very hotels of this quality on the Brittany coast.
