well thought-out and executed menu. Instead of choosing a bottle from the extensive and amazing wine list , one may opt to go through the by-the-glass list for variety and experience. I will return

It has taken us 9 years of living in Burgundy to pluck up the courage to eat at the 3* Lameloise. There are so many places where you can spend around 30€ and get a fabulous lunch that it seemed perverse to splash out on the fixed 82€ Lameloise lunch, but, my goodness, was this an experience to savour.

We were greeted by at least a dozen members of staff before reaching our table, but thereafter found the service professional and unintrusive. We were delighted to find that a carafe of water was offered free of charge, rather than having bottled mineral water foist on us.

It’s difficult to pile enough praise on the food, with a whole series of amuses-bouches before we got to the starter. Every mouthful was a delight and an explosion of tastes, subtle, enticing and deeply satisfying. The starter, main and dessert were equally superb, with more delights on offer between each course. The bread choice was simply delicious.

The wine list is, as you might expect, vast, and prices are higher than in other restaurants, but not excessively so - cheapest wines at about 40€ and decent wines in the 60-70€ range (and up, and up). We went for a soft, round Rully and Givry for 70€ each.

Dessert wine was a bit too pricy and the coffee was more expensive than it needed to be, I felt. The entire lunch took just under three hours and set me back 530€ for four, so you need to be prepared for that sort of shock, but it was unquestionably one of the best meals we have had in decades of coming to France.

There are, of course, other (much) more expensive options than the fixed price lunch, but I felt my credit card would already be close enough to meltdown as it was.

Here is very valuable place and this place is a real gem. Because you can't find this kind of place here on these days. Quality is everything we need. This restaurant is getting 5 of 5 everytime I come here.

We enjoyed a long, slow lunch here in July 2019. We chose the 3 course degustation menu, which of course mean around 10 actual courses by the time the amuse bouche, cheese and petit fours are added.

The restaurant decor was elegant, warm and not too formal. We found the service polished, assured and warm. We felt like welcome guests. The food quality and presentation was of course outstanding. The cheese selection was enormous!

It’s incredibly expensive, but well worth it and with 3 Michelin stars, one of the best restaurants in France, so you need to book in advance.

Highly recommended

We (5 of us) had a really nice 3.5 hour dinner here during our Burgundy trip back in oct 2018. The staffs were friendly and really attentive service.
Food was tasty with nice presentation. The escargot with octopus was quite amazing, tender and the cream sauce was not too heavy. For main course I ordered the sea bass with uni cream sauce, it was perfectly cooked and the uni sauce is not overpowering the fish. All of us really enjoyed our dinner and I would recommend this place if anyone is looking to have a nice dinner at Beaune!
