Not long back from two weeks holiday in Domaine de Dugny (last two weeks in August 2012) and we heart broken to be home from what was our best holiday in years. This would have been our seventh consecutive year holidaying in france with Siblu and we found that Domaine de Dugny fits our needs and we are planning to go back again next year. I would admit that the weather plays a big part of any holiday and we could not have asked for better, we arrived on Saturday 18th August to a temperature of 40 deg C and the cool external pool was exactly what was called for.
When we started holidaying in France we stayed in Domaine de Kerlann for five two week periods and loved it but found the site to be very open and not too secure as it was open to locals to use the facilities ie the pools and Bar. We then moved on to Les Pierres Couchees which we did not like and at the end of the holiday we had enough and were happy to be going home, I would admit that the weather that year was particularly bad and did not help.
This year Domaine de dugny exceeded all expectations and we have nothing but praise for the site and the facilities. We have one 9 year old boy (Tim) who made good friends from day one and he had lots of freedom as the site was secure because of its location etc. Small things make a big difference to us and all the staff we had dealings with were very helpfull and accommodating. Tim could go to the bar for a fizzy drink and he was afforded the same attention as the adult beside him looking for a glass of wine or beer. We used the on site restaurant three times ovet the two keeks and it was perfect for our needs, again the staff were "lovely" helpfull and polite. Tim did not partake in the Kids clubs so I cannot comment there but the night time entertainment was as good as we have experienced in the past on the other sites.
We will be going back to Domaine de Dugny in 2013 and if I can get the time off work we would like to stay for three weeks.
In relation to the countryside around the three sites we have been too we would prefer the costal areas of france with the small towns and fishing villages rather than the inland towns around Domaine de Dugny but the site itself more than compensates for this.
