“Hotel under renovation”
Reviewed 11 February 2014

Be careful when booking this hotel as its under renovation. The hallways are dusty and smell of glue and paint. The floors in the hallways are covered in plastics.
The rooms themselves are small and a bit old, but have everything you would expect in a 3 star hotel. Breakfast is simple, but affordable for Parisian standards. I also found that the walls in the rooms are thin, I could clearly hear my neighbours phone conversation. The one thing that really is missing is a shower curtain.

I stayed here for one night, as a last minute option as I needed a hotel room in that area for a meeting in the following morning. The location is good, with the line 9 metro station right in front of the hotel.

The room was clean and ok in size. The decoration was a bit dated and it could use some renovation (my room had a squeaky floor). Also, as the hotel is on a big avenue, front rooms can be noisy.

The staff was helpful and they offered me a complimentary breakfast, which was very simple, with not a lot of variety. The coffee was surprisingly good though, not the weak / watered down coffee.

Overall, I think the hotel was too expensive for what it delivered. And unless you need to be in Boulogne-Billancourt, for the same price one can get a 3-star hotel in Paris.

I found the hotel on internet and the Booking.com price was Euro 80 per night.
When I phoned the hotel directly, they quoted Euro 150 for the same room.
So I booked by Booking.com and got the room for the agreed Euro 80.

Initially, I was pleased at the location; right next to the metro station and in a good area.
However, there were problems:
I stayed for three nights. Sky News was supposed to be available but it did not work.
The Hotel Reception said they'd get it fixed, but it didn't work any of the time I was there. Neither did RAI-1 (Italian TV), or Euro Sports. These were all advertised in the hotel directory as being available.

Also, although the internet connection worked on day 1 it did not work on days 2 and 3. The Hotel Reception was informed, but nothing happened. I explained that I needed Internet to make my onward bookings and to check my bank account.

Furthermore, there was no complimentary coffee, milk, or sugar, and also no shower gel on day 2.

When checking out, I recounted the problems and asked if they could adjust my bill because of the TV and Internet problems, however they said, "No", and calmly charged me the full amount of 8 Euros per day for parking. I would have thought they might have wanted my goodwill but apparently not.

Room Tip: Don't book by telephone or walk in, use booking.com

My room was on the street side, so the road noise was extreme. Typical small European rooms. Had a shower head with no shower curtain so water was sprayed all over the bathroom taking a basic shower. It is amazing that a simple little thing like a shower curtain isn't used. On the positive side, the room was clean and receptionists were very friendly. Location was very convenient to our office, but given a choice I would choose the IBIS as it is in a quieter location.

If you're looking for a base to explore Paris on a budget then this is the place for you, if however you're on a business trip and need some sleep then think again. The walls are very thin indeed, I was awoken on my last night at 3am by next door's antics and kept awake for a good while, fortunately I did have some ear plugs which were put to good use. The rooms are pretty small and could certainly do with some updating, the carpet and bed for starters. The bed is very hard so if you prefer a soft bed then avoid. The room seemed to be clean and tidy, although I did wake up with 3 bites on my leg, not something I could contribute to the room as this only happened on the first night as was fine thereafter. The bathroom is functional, however there's no shower curtain so you have to sit in the bath to douse yourself. Breakfast is very basic and I only attempted this the once, opting to get mine for the rest of the week from the local Patisseries. The staff are very polite and helpful and all speak English if you ask.

Room Tip: You definitely don't want to be on the road side of the building, nor next to the lift as the so...

I've been travelling to Paris for one night every other week for the last two years or so - meaning I have a lot of experience with budget hotels in this area! The Best Western chain is well known throughout the UK and America, but as each hotel is independently owned and operated, all this really guarantees you is a decent booking website and a reasonably good loyalty card.
As with most hotels in the area, the utilising is fairly old, and certainly not purpose built as a modern hotel! However, the rooms are all clean and of a comfortable size, so no worries there.
However, only half the rooms have a shower - the rest are solds as "room with a bath", and therefore have no shower curtains, even though the bath has a shower attachment. This means, if you risk having a shower, you are likely to flood the bathroom!

As also mentioned in other reviews, the walls are very thin, so a noisy neighbour can be a problem. The street noise is well shut out by the double-glazing though.

The hotel has also recently redone its wifi provision, so the Internet connection is a lot easier and better than it used to be.

I've never bothered with breakfast there, but it seems to be the usual Parisan option of croissants and juice, typically rare over-priced.

We stayed at the select hotel for 3 days and got a weekend promotion of 100 euro's per night for a twin room - breakfast included.
It's a 3 star hotel but if feels more like a 2,5. Rooms are clean and decent size.
Free internet and works fine. The bathroom however is small and there's no showercurtain.
There's airco in the room but is not working properly.

Normal price for breakfast is 12 euro which is way too much. You get a typical Parisian breakfast with croissant and baguette, choices of jam, chocolate spread and two types of meat.
There's no cooked food which you would expect for that price.

It's not located in the city centre but very close to the highway which makes it very easy to get there by car. The hotel also has a private parking for only 6 euro per night. The metro is in front of the door and takes you to Champs Elysées in 15 minutes.

This is an ideal hotel for a short break but it's not worth the normal price they ask: 160 euro's for 2 per night.
