We decided to explore more local attractions this visit having crammed the big tourist attractions in last time. Worth a trip to explore the gardens alone and bargain 4 Euro entrance per person. We spent a very pleasant and relaxing few hours wandering through. Would love to return when they are in full bloom.

This is a wonderful place to visit, the japanese styled gardens made by Albert Kahn, a rich industrial frenchman who fell in love with Japan and brought many trees and bridge, houses in 1890. The visit costs little, 4€, and it is just beautiful, unheard of in Paris. You can go by metro or better yet many bus lines, check the site bellow.

It was €4pp to visit and well worth a visit. For anyone who likes gardening, this is a must to see. It was a real gardeners garden the each style of garden was equally beautiful. We couldn't get over how much there was to see and how lovely it was for the entry price they charge. The photographs in the museum are very interesting although all signs are in French which I couldn't read well enough. A real treasure of a place.

Just outside the Métro exit for Boulogne-Pont de St-Cloud at the end of line 10, this is a fun out-of-the-way excursion if you've already hit Paris' 1st- and 2nd-tier sights. The gardens are lovely, but the small-but-compact museum really offers a lot in the way of old photography and moving pictures. Kahn was ahead of his time there and the photographs, including color, and film are fantastic. He traveled around the world in the early 1900's, with an assistant "techy" to whom he taught photography, documenting virtually everything they could. The street scenes of daily life were the most impressive for me. For car buffs, the small Renault Museum around the corner on 27, rue des Abondances is also fun if you happen to be out that way on a Tuesday or Thursday between 2-6pm. The photographs there are also worth the trip.

Our final day in Paris happened to be the first Sunday of the month. On the first Sunday, admission to the museum and gardens is free. The gardens are magnificent, even in December, with water features, bridges, stonework, espaliered apple trees, a greenhouse, azaleas, and exotic trees. The museum itself is fantastic, and we were entranced with the color photography from 1909 to 1930. Since color was in its infancy, Albert Kahn was contacted to photograph World War I. He is responsible for color photos that exist from more than 50 countries. He lost his fortune after the crash f 1929, so his photographic quest came to an end. This is captivating.
