“You get what you pay for.”
Reviewed 15 July 2013

I stayed here after missing my flight out of Charles de Gaulle, and for the €45 price tag I wasn't expecting much. I'm confused by the reviewers who anticipated something exceptional or something closer to the city center. It's billed as an inexpensive airport hotel! It's a place to crash and shower between flights--nothing more.
I must agree with the reviewers who found the hotel difficult to find, however. Even my cab driver circled the area twice before spotting it. Also, many sites list it as being a mere 4 kilometers from the airport. It's more like 11 kilometers from the actual terminal entrances, so anticipate spending about €20 for the cab fare.
My A/C was nonexistent. The unit was installed, but not functional. I was too tired to argue, though. Otherwise the room was what I anticipated: clean, small, awkwardly arranged, and containing a bed.
You won't necessarily be blown away, and that's obviously not their goal. They're providing you with a place to sleep and shower for far less than anywhere else in the area. And although the bar may be low, they do meet it.

We stayed here as part of a school trip so we saw about 15 rooms in the hotel. Most had some sort of fault, from no shower curtain to smoke detectors covered in tape and even sockets hanging out of the walls. Most problems were fixed quickly. Some of the beds were broken and had been inexpertly repaired. The cleaning staff make a good job of the rooms and will clean and change the bed daily if required. Some rooms had been freshly painted. The rooms are small for a double or twin and the triples were very cramped. The open areas were less well cared for. The seals around the baths and basins were incomplete and discoloured. The breakfast room flooded overnight but was still open the next morning with a wet carpet covered in a fine mud. The breakfast was good. The pictures look good but don't show the true story. The reception staff were fairly helpful but we did have a few fluent French speakers with us. It is very difficult to find. There are some signs on the main road but when you get near it is hard to see the hotel as it is behind the pizza place. There is s small sign on the fence and above the entrance but they are no bigger than a sheet of A4 paper. One American guest took 3 hours to find it. Even at midnight the journey from the arc de triumph was 50 mins, in the morning it ranged from 1.5 hours up to 3 hours. The metro does not extend out as far as Gonesse. It is near 2 airports and under the flight paths for both. The planes can be heard most of the night even through the double glazing. The rooms are not soundproof as stated on one website. There were big tv's in each room with a range of French channels.

This hotel was previously part of the IBIS group. I had a confirmed and guaranteed reservation with IBIS for 2 nights booked November 2012. IBIS had not informed me of this change.

On arrival they said they had no knowledge of my reservation, but had a room available for the same price as I booked for the first night only. No room was currently available for the second night but was told again to enquire again the next morning.

Next morning they had rooms available - all rooms were priced 60 euros more than my original guaranteed booking (due to Paris Air show) and the old IBIS reservation documents with my name was also found. Needless to say I moved to another hotel as did many other people who had experienced the same treatment.

So shame on Egg hotel for trying to rip everyone off. IBIS needs to sort there computer systems as this mail and one last week before I left for France still say welcome to IBIS Gonesse.

Still awaiting for a response from IBIS on this matter. Fortunately there are many hotels in Paris, but could have done without the hassle and the hour I wasted rebooking another hotel for the second night.

This hotel covers your basic needs and is cheap but its no saving when you have to pay a lot extra for the transport tickets as the hotel is far away from Paris city. The location of the hotel is in an industrial area without any shops or supermarkets so you would seriously have a problem if you needed to buy something while being in the hotel. My hotel room was also very humid and the hotel is a bit old fashioned. The first day I arrived to Paris after sunset and on the train station I was shocked to know that the bus doesn't drive to the hotel after 21 pm, so I was forced to take a taxi but the driver couldn't find the hotel either so it was all a big mess and I ended up paying the taxi driver 40 euros. The next day I discovered that the nearest bus 22 only comes few times a day so I ended up walking long distances in order to reach the nearest bus stop.
For all the above reasons, especially due to the poor location of the hotel, I would not recommend anyone to stay at this hotel. Even if you have a car I would not recommend this hotel as you would find difficulties in finding the hotel at first (as I mentioned earlier, even the experienced paris taxi driver couldnt find the hotel) and you would have to drive a lot if you want to reach paris city, and you would also have to drive a lot to reach a supermarket in case you need to buy something immediately like water.
The positive things about the hotel is that the staff is very friendly and the television HD in the room is nice and the nespresso in the room tastes good.
