Just returned from a wonderfull 3 day trip to Paris. We booked this trip through a small Travel Company (part of the Holiday Collection Group). This hotel is nice and clean and we have no complaints about it. It is advertisd as being in the La Defense area of Paris. However on arrival at GDG we were totally baffled (first visit) at what train to get etc. Naturally we asked at the ticket counter for 'La Defense' they gave us directions on where and how to switch trains etc and off we went. After getting off at Chatalet station we changed trains and got the train to La Defense. Once we reached that station we thought we were there. We walked out the station into this huge area which would be equivalent to our Canary Wharf no sign of our hotel. We grabbed a Taxi and 10 mins later and 12 euros lighter we arrived. Anyway the only downside is that there was a train station 5 mins from this hotel but we didn;t know this. If you visit this part of Paris in the future from CDG get B (pale blue line) to Chatalet, then change for Train which final destination is St Germain en Laye and get off at Nanterre Ville Hotel is 2 mins from here, simples...... when you know how!! If we had known this beforehand....anyway bit of a ways out from Centre of Paris but the trains are fantastic and good value if you get a 3 or 5 day pass. We loved Paris. Vive la France!!!

Overall not bad!

Was a pretty cheap 3 night stay including buffet breakfast. Really good selection for breakfast!

Room - not the cleanest, but we didn't complain!

Staff - generally friendly - understood English.

Location...dodgy area. If you are taking the underground - don't head towards Nanterre centre!

Nanterre centre is quite nice, but going out where the hotel is seemed a little rough. Many ethnic minorities and homeless people. Lots of Turkish shops!

We walked around the town at night and were OK, but it's not really the place you want to be on your own!

There is a Decathlon nearby and a Ford Mustang themed cafe, which seemed pretty cool, but it was closed when we were there!

We went to an English / Irish bar north of the town centre, which was...er...different!

I would recommend this to people who are looking for some quality cheap digs - on a budget holiday.

Hmmmm well ok it was not an expensive hotel but it was called a quality inn?? the reception was not too bad nice and clean and clean toilets!!!!!! (France appears to have a toilet UN cleanliness issue ) the room was to say the least small! not really suitable unles itsjust an overnight stay and you are not planning on taking any luggage(or the cat) 1st night was great i cut my toe on the wardrobe door which was extremly sharp! second night i cut my foot getting into bed!! i say bed it was more like a whole load of nuts and bolts and screws banged into some wood! and very sharp ones at that! the area was not really a good choice for sightseeing in Paris and we were informed after a day that it was classed as the suburbs and not ideal to be wandering after dark (so we didnt) instead we decided to go and use the hotel bar which looked very nice and stayed open till 11pm??? ok is that 11pm british time?? as we got there at 10.30 and it was all in darkness and not a soul in sight. so if you want a cheap overnight stay then i recommend it if not then pay a little bit extra and look elsewhere

I suppose you do get what you pay for, and although I am very easily pleased, this place aint up to very much at all.

Well, the bedroom was so small, we were just fortunate that we didn't take the cat with us, cos we wouldn't have been able to swing the poor bugger around in here!

Staff were apathetic to our stay, ever felt invisible??

We rushed back on the metro so we could get a night cap in the hotel bar which closes at 11pm, and guess what....? We entered the bar with 3 minutes grace..................Bar close, and no-one around.

Way too far away from central Paris for use as a base, unless you just love the metro trips.

Our 1st visit to Paris, next time I'd pay more and get a base closer to the action. Oh, and its in a pretty dodgey part of town if you're a bit intimidated, but feels safe in daytime, just wouldn't want my missus going out there at night for a pint of milk.........

Enjoy
