“Good for train spotters”
Reviewed 5 June 2010

All the reviews are pretty accurate and I accept you get what you pay for but none of the reviews mention the admittedly 2 minute walk to the RER station that means you need to run the gauntlet of the beggers and drunks.
We had my daughter and her friend with us and always attracted a great deal of unwelcome attention - on one occasion a drunk stumbled from the kerb and fell into the middle of the road right in front of us, we didn't stop to see if he was alright!
The RER/metro journeys were not much better - the only time I felt safe was when 3 large transit cops were in the carriage and that was the only time we saw any security in 4 days.
Go for somewhere nearer the city itself.

This hotel was the most basic I have ever stayed in. In a very dull, but quiet part of Paris. The room was clean & bed comfy, but there wasn't even any soap, no kettle or drinking facilities, just a locked bar. A plastic beaker in bathroom for tap water was all we had.
The heating system was so loud we had to turn it off.
Breakfast was hardly worth going down for. The evening meals only happen Monday to Friday.....no weekends. We were there over a weekend! The bar was empty & I'm not surprised. Truly expensive!
The Hotel staff tried to help if we asked but were not that friendly. They also tried to charge me 5 euros for a cup of tea, because I used the hot water for my own herbal tea bag .........when my friend had just paid almost 10 euro's for a vodka & Pepsi.
I should imagine for business people that just want to plonk their heads down, it is OK. But it is not a hotel for families or for enjoyable stays over in Paris.
Plus points is that it is right near the Metro station & inexpensive rates.

Once you accept that this hotel is not right in the middle of the city and are prepared to make a fifteen minute train journey to the suburbs then this is an exceptional value hotel particularly if you are travelling by car. I certainly would prefer to have a similar hotel closer to the centre but this would cost at least a hundred euro extra per night and my funds do not stretch to that.
Extremely satisfied customer with absolutely no complaints.

It is what it is - cheap & in a Paris suburb near to RER train station. We had booked a few days in Paris between Christmas & New Year to get away. Our first impressions were 'oh my god what have we booked' - but it did improve from there! The reception staff were helpful & informative when we asked for directions & advice & allowed us to check in early. The rooms were very basic & a little tired & dated, however they were reasonably clean & comfortable & more importantly warm as the weather was freezing!! No tea making facilities in the rooms - so if you have one take a travel kettle! Breakfast was adequate although there was limited choice - having said that we did not go hungry - but don't expect a full english style buffet! Can not comment on the evening meals as the restaurant was closed from 24th December - 4th January as the chef was on holiday! The area was mainly occupied by immigrants, other reviews have raised this but we felt completely safe at all times. There is a large supermarket close by along the main street. Eating out in Paris is very expensive - but the drinks are even worse - 5.50 euros average for a cappuccino & 8 euros for a pint! Stalls selling waffles & crepes were plentiful & reasonable in comparison with restaurants - although again beware of the drink prices - a bottle of coke was 3.50 euros which was more than the food! Paris is a lovely city with so much to see - too much to list as most are obvious - but be prepared to do lots of walking & go to a supermarket for snacks & drinks before you get to the city! If you want a cheap base that you do not plan to do anything more than sleep in then this would do.

I booked a long weekend break for my boyfriends birthday, we stayed in quality inn and were happy with the hotel. It is outside of paris but the metro service which is just around the corner was excellent with trains every 5-10 minutes, I got a really good deal on the hotel and so it was well worth having to get the trains in and out of the centre of Paris. The staff were friendly and were helpful with directions and had relatively good English (except for one of the receptionists who didnt have a clue what we were saying) The breakfast was very good on weekdays as this hotels caters for business people with a wide selection on offer, but at the weekend the breakfast had less of a variety but still good. Nanterre ville itself is a quiet business area with some shops and restaurants around, but like others have mentioned everything closes around 11.00, this was ok for us as we mainly stayed in paris until much later.
Others have left excellent directions on how to get to the hotel from CDG airport which we had no problem following but when we arrived at Nanterre Ville and left the metro station we had no clue what direction to go in and had to wander around thankfully a friendly local sent us in the right direction, so when you leave the station go down the ramp, turn left, go up the hill and on your left you will see the hotel.
we also bought the weekly visitor pass (not paris visite pass) which you had to put a passport pic into this saved us loads as it covers all zones including the airport, disneyland etc and was ideal when you are that bit further out of the city.
Overall a basic hotel but it was clean quiet and suited us fine as a base whilst sight seeing in Paris.

This was first trip to France so was looking forward to it. When me and my Girlfriend landed we caught the bus to port maillot were we caught the metro and then the train ...i must admit we got kinda lost but some very helpfull locals helped us.
When we found the hotel with the help of a nice bus driver we did find that the train station was only five minutes away. The staff were great and we found our room to be very clean . The bathroom was small but very clean and a good shower,The beds we asked for a double but the gave us to beds pushed together which made it hard as they kept moving apart but they were really comfy. The one bad thing was the restaurant was closed the whole time we was there and we werent told this and the breakfast was rubbish.
Now the bad Nanterre is a nice town during the day ..but at night we would find out that everywere closes at seven The town just is dead apart from the gangs of youths and homeless who kept coming up to you to your face beggin and you just did not feel safe. The only place we could eat was dominos !! Coming back on the train at nite was also a bit risky you felt like the only tourists and walking back to the hotel you were surrounded by youths We stopped going out at nite in the end , Also i felt the hotel was to out of the way from paris it just was not a base hotel you could not just pop back if you were hot and bothered like we were as it was baking in paris.
All in all the hotel is nice but the location wasnt time i will pay more and get a hotel closer to paris.
