we had selected this restaurant for dinner based on a recommendation in the issue of January 2014 of Where, the city guide of Paris. According to the magazine, this was supposed to be an excellent fish restaurant managed by two star chef Michel Rostang. The review mentioned wok-seared tuna with foie gras and that attracted us, as well as the shellfish.

Upon our arrival the restaurant was completely empty. Strange. Later, a few guests arrived but it stayed quite empty on a saturday night.

Bizarre is the best description for the food served by a so called 2 star chef. And the service. When we asked about the wok-seared tuna with foie gras the waiter looked flabbergasted. He had never seen that dish on the menu. Neither could he remember it. And that while it was being advertised or reviewed in a city guide of the same month that we visited the place.

I selected the 5 course Michel Rostang menu while my partner ordered little crabcakes and some salad. Beautifully presented yes, but the dressing was very sour, quite unpleasant. The crust on the crabcakes was a bit overcooked and dry although the meat was fresh and tasty.

We had suspected already something was wrong when our amuse came. The waiter announced a mousse of cod and that is exactly what we got, but it tasted bland and absolutely not interesting. My starter was some creme or soup, but of what?? The oysters were ok. Main dish was cote de boeuf in a crust of salt. While the taste was not that bad, the meat was almost raw and very chewy. We could hardly eat a bite of this dish. What a waste.

Then our dessert came after almost an hour, we had to ask for it. Service was very slow while there were 8 waiters serving an almost empty restaurant.

But the worst experience of the evening was the smell of burnt toast, it came from a toast device near our table. Very unpleasant.

Our experience on this evening was certainly a bummer. The food was not what we were expecting and the service was poor. Not to be repeated and definitely not recommended. A one-time experience.

Skip the decor which is a matter of taste after all. Skip the langoustine rôtie really not unforgettable (39€). Skip the oysters, all delicious except one which created an intoxication (18€ for 6 + blood test). But if in a fish restaurant if the turbot (48€) is not perfectly fresh, then you have a problem, even if the dessert were offered in a commercial good will.

if you like good seafood and great ambience then this is a place for you.
you can have a great romantic dinner or just a good dinner.
seafood is fresh and the service is great.
we had a seafood platter for two - it was delicious.
the place is little bit outside of the center of paris, however it gives you
a chance to stay away from a tourist routine.

Had a very enjoyable meal here.
Not cheap at all, but you get what you pay for, in this instance you get real quality ingredients and excellent cooking.
The staff are very helpful and good at guiding you around the menu.
The fruit be mer was wonderful with a selection of different oysters, muscles, prawns, welks, cockles. This was the cheaper fruit de mer and they do a more comprehensive one.
The desserts are excellent too.
