“Great restaurant - we went twice!”
Reviewed 25 February 2013

This restaurant was located very near our hotel, just a few minutes walk from the Esplanade de La Défense metro station.

My wife and I like Vietnamese food. Viet Quan was recommended by the reception staff at our hotel, with one person saying that it was as good as any in Paris.

The menu is quite varied. We had beef and chicken dishes the first visit, and shrimp and beef and vegetarian the second visit. For entree we sampled the nem and soumossa (not sure of my spelling...).

All was delicious. We had the good fortune to have a waitress that was also a university student, so we were able to ask about the menu in English.

A good experience!

“Unassuming yet exquisite”
Reviewed 4 December 2012

This is a small restaurant tucked away in a small street not far from the business area of La Defence, Paris. Parking may be a problem, especially as there are currently road works in the area but the restaurant is just a short 95-10 minute_ walk from the Esplanade de La defense Metro station.
Although the staff don't speak much (if any) English, they are all very pleasant and try to be as helpful as possible.
The Vietnamese food is very subtle - more flavoursome than Chinese and not as fiery hot as Thai. There are plenty of selections in the menu, including set meals, with several photos to show you what will arrive in your bowl or on your plate.
I have eaten here three times now and have selected different dishes each time, all selections setting my taste buds alive with their subtle and exquisite flavours. From soups and traditional starters such as spring rolls, the quality of the food and the presentation will tempt you to try more. The mains are also varied with rice and noodle dishes being the mainstay.
The two waitresses will allow you time to enjoy your food in a relaxed environment yet will be sufficiently attentive to respond if you need anything.
Also, the prices here are very competitive considering the close proximity to such a large business area. A three course meal with drinks should cost around 25 Euro.
If you enjoy eating tasty and interesting food at an unhurried pace, this restaurant is well worth a visit.
