“Excellent Airport Hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 September 2011

The Hyatt Regency at CDG was the last hotel we stayed at during a long European trip. We stayed just one night on our way out of town.

The outside of the hotel is not very aesthetically pleasing but once you are inside you won't care about that much.

We stayed in a Regency room which completely changed our stay for the better. There are a couple of restaurants in the main lobby which looked nice but we never had to eat there because the Regency room has such great snacks and food. The wine they served was really nice and the desserts were terrific. The service in the Regency room was really nice as well.

I've stayed in Hyatt Regency rooms all over the world but I think this hotel has the nicest Regency lounge out of them all.

Overall this is a good hotel that is close to the airport and serves its purpose well.

My wife and I just recently completed a 2 night stay here - as airport hotels go, it is very decent.

Let's clear up the shuttle bus issue first: contrary to numerous other TP reports, the shuttle is situated right outside the RER B exit (next to Gare Routiere) near T3 (T3 is still another 10 min walk away), where all of the other hotel shuttles are. Granted, most of the other hotel shuttles pass by T2, but the added walk from T2 on arrival is a small price to pay for door to door service).

Many TP reports have complained about the hotel charging for use of the pool. When I asked the staff about this, they were bewildered and informed me that it was free. My conclusion is therefore that aircrew must have written those reports - since they have a special discounted corporate rate, their airlines are not willing to foot the pool access in that rate. There is no such issue if you book through an agent (in fact, my stay was inclusive of breakfast).

The quality of the rooms and amenities are of Hyatt standard, and far better than same category hotels you can find in Paris at considerably less money.

Would I stay here again? Unfortunately no, as I would stay at either the Ibis or Novotel located next to Gare Routiere. You save the shuttle transfer time, and granted the rooms aren't of the same class or grading, but they are priced considerably less as well.

Nice place, shuttle takes you from terminal 3 back and forth from the hotel every 20 mins, check-in was a breeze, I got in early enough for the breakfast, it was around 16euro, pretty good spread, best bet was to have your eggs made by the guy working the grill. The lobby is spacious and comfortable, lots of places to sit and chat with friends, the bar area is a nice touch, I got in from seeing Paris around 10pm and was still able to order food and drinks. Rooms are great, lots of room, modern and comfortable, that goes for the restroom too, plenty of room between the pot and shower. The window looks into the lobby area, which is always pretty bright, but the drapes black out the room very well. There was a charge of around 12 euro for the wireless internet, which was decent speed, but it did need to reconnect frequently. Overall, it was a decent stay.

This hotel is a very nice hotel which is unfortunately let down by several things. Let me start with the good stuff. First, the rooms are quite large and very comfortable. Certainly much more than the vast majority fo the 4* hotels in Paris. The hotel decor is modern and the bar and restaurant are both very nice and the food is actually quite good. Overall, this is well above the standard European comfort standard (which is substantially lower than the USA or ASIA).

Now, let's talk about the bad and how to avoid it. First, the shuttle is a real pain. It leaves from Terminal 3 only rather than Terminal 2 which means that if you land at 2F or 2A, this is quite a walk already + a train (to Roissy Pole). Then you have to wait up to 30 minutes for the shuttle. Overall, it can take 1 hour to get to the hotel, which is 15 minutes more than the center of Paris! Secondly, the internet connection is, for 12 Euro a day, a total rip-off. For that price, all yu get is ... 256kbps. Might as well offer dial up! Are we in a 4* hotel in 2011 or a 2* hotel in 2005? One would wonder...

I strongly suggest you take the cab to get here (it will cost 10 Euro but you will say 45 minutes) but, the cab driver will hate you and will probably tell you (the cab drivers have to wait a long time in queues to get customers and they are really not liking the short rides).

Overall, an nice hotel which is let down by complex access and abysmal WiFi.

Stayed 1 night in the Hyatt before flying out of Paris. Perhaps I was passed it after a 4h30 drive to get there. Arrived at 22h00 knowing I had to leave again at 05h30, so I was looking for a quick check in, a bite to eat and bed. Wrong. The girls behind the reception desk we kind and polite, but it took just over 20 mins to check in ! with only 3 people in front of me, and 6 behind. Then I went to the room and rang room service, The one button phone number rang for more than 5 mins before someone took my order. "It will be with you in 25 - 30 mins..." Wrong 50 mins ! for a sandwich !!! Bed was good but the room looked as if it could do with a good re-decoration.

Overall, kind people, slow slow slow, could do with some renovation, and all this for a price that is not cheap.

I stay at this hotel not by choice but because my company pays for it at least 8 times a year. The hotel is in the middle of a field, and resembles a jail with its cold grey look, and cold french attitude from the staff.

If you intend to travel into paris, stay at the airport where u can jump straight on the train, from here you must get a bus back to the airport then train into the city, which is time consuming and annoying to say the least!

The hotel has one restaurant and a bar, both of which are average. While i have not had the pleasure of eating dinner, the breakfast is average. Over the past 2 years i have asked for poached eggs every stay, to which the answer is NO.. Every other alternative choice of eggs is lathered in OIL. The staff are most unfriendly and un accommodating. No where have i ever been where you can not get poached eggs for breakfast! All it take is a pot and some water and a dash of vinegar.

Last stay i spotted about 6-8 baby cockroaches crawling around the bread basket, which i politely told the lady on duty to which she apologised and brought me a selection of bread and croissants from the same basket!

No one here will go the extra step, and barely on occasions take the first step.

On a positive note, the rooms and nice and clean, with comfortble beds.

I'd check out other hotels in the area for an airport stop over!
