We stayed at the campsite with our 2 children ( 6 and 2 yrs) and although we had a great time and the weather was great I wouldn't rush to return. In fairness the site itself is very clean and the on site staff were forever cleaning and brushing up. The site is very busy with a good little supermarket ( not cheap) and a bakery which was handy however despite there being a ban on driving around between certain hours, there was still the odd car. The traffic was something which put me off, having 2 small children the beauty of a self contained campsite is the freedom they have but there were cars around always, in particular on the way to the pool area as it was the main way out. In addition to this there was little for my kids to do. The daytime programme and facilities are good, we played table tennis, tennis, and my son took part in a football tournament in the site opposite. The pool area was great and we spent most of our time there but when it came to evening there was nothing for small kids and it was very poor. I expected a mini disco every night as the guy who ran the mini disco (Monsieur Tumbal as I called him) spoke several languages but only appeared once during the week stay so we went over to the site over the road to see him again. There was no opportunity for my kids to dance or to make friends which I felt was a shame and quite unusual as in my experience the kids bring the adults and the adults drink at the bar and they make profit. I was expecting to meet people and instead I found the opposite. We booked into the restaurant on our last night to see the rep show and the food was ok but not great and the service was terrible.
I think this site relies on people doing their own thing, so if that's your thing then this is for you.
The local area is lovely, the beach is great despite there being quite a steep shelf into the sea it is a must do just for the views and the vineyard round the corner is amazing and very cheap ( out of the site, turn right, turn left at the roundabout, there are 2 on your left) amazing!

Room Tip: Try to get a home off the beaten track away from main routes.

We booked a week with Roan for the last week in August and had a 3 bed mobile (with tv and air-con). Roan was a decent price and were pleasant to deal with. Their mobiles all seemed to be decent ones on site.

The site itself is tidy, secure and well kept. Our mobile was very comfortable with a decent, well shaded outdoor area. However, the site is busy and most pitches are very close together. The pool itself, and the area around it, is very pleasant (if a little cold for my liking), but is too small for the number of people on site and gets jam-packed at peak afternoon times.

Our pitch was a distance from the main entrance, which suited us as it was quieter. The shop and restaurant were a rip off, so didn't use them much. The bar wasn't cheap, but no-where was in that part of the world, the wifi was poor. An Intermarche hyper is 5 mins up the road, and has everything you need - though it was an experience on Saturday afternoons. The shows in the evening were generally good, there were lots of activities to take part in during the day (we did archery, football & table tennis).

Argeles itself is in a beautiful part of the world, great beach (slightly gravelly sand) between the Med and the Pyrennes. However, there are so many people there in August it is a struggle to really enjoy. The beach part of town is a tacky tourist strip filled with fast food and junk shops.

We visited Coulliere, which was nice, Banylus which was not really that exciting and Perpeytuse which we all really liked.

Having holidayed in France for the last 20 years, this is without doubt one of the best sites in the South West of France. Ideally located for the beaches and with easy access to major road networks. The site is well maintained and is very clean. The pool area has been improved by the addition of astroturf, and next year a brand new pool complex is due to open, including an adult only pool and new bigger water slides to keep the kids happy.
It is expensive, but so is the whole of France, both in terms of accommodation and eating out, but beer and wine is cheap in the supermarkets and food is comparable to uk, so you can make your money go further. Bar prices on site are average for France in general
The entertainmnet is first class and although it is mainly in french, the productions are extremely professional ( we saw the Lion King, Grease and Mama Mia and songs were in english)
The site does get busy in late July and throughout August so expect pools etc to be busy. All staff speak excellent english and are really really helpful. Would recommend that you get a mobile with Air Con, it is worth the extra. The shop on site is ok and well stocked but is more expensive than supermarkets., the on site bakery is very good.
No hesitation in recommending this site, it is one of the best in France

We paid in all nearly 3000 euros for a two week stay
We booked direct with the site a 3 bedroom deluxe static home which we understood to be their second best accommodation
On arrival were placed in B18.Whilst this was central our daughters bedroom was overlooking a yard full of work lorries and work machinery and out the front of our home was a temporary material green wall and metal fencing which was very unsightly. Also our pitch area was extremely unkept as the grass and plants were all over grown and clearly unkept.
It soon became apparent to us that area where we stayed was going to be redeveloped for their new swimming pool complex and therefore was not bothered about unlikeother areas of the site. As we walked round the site others areas are clearly being gardened to be kept neat.
Also we were never warned about the booming noise of the aqua aerobics several mornings a week waking us up on our holidays.
The actual site itself is lovely and we enjoyed our stay in the region but for the cost we felt really let down.
BBQ is good bar prices 5.5 euros for a pint is just a take on - captive audience.South of
France is expensive end of family of five (3 kids) eating out 90 euros minimum.
Lovely region Collioure is a beautiful place worth a visit.
Saly we all felt a bit let down by yet another company taking peoples money without forewarning of shortcomings in accomodation plot etc.

Unfortunately it has left us all rather disappointed. We as a family only get one holiday a year and feel that we should have been warned before booking about the area of the site we were being placed in.If we had known where we were going to have been placed we would not have booked.

We are a family of 5. Dad, Mum, 3 boys ages 9, 13 and 15. We are an active family and when choosing accommodation and location we look for some where that we can get out and about, La Sirene was a good choice for us. We requested a van at the back of the park when booking which I was glad about because it is much quieter however the boys thought that we were to far away from everything, so we hired bikes for the week and this was a big hit. I thought the bikes were reasonably priced, you have to leave credit card details as a deposit, no problem. The boys loved the pool area and the fact that it was deep enough in areas to swim and jump into. Around the pool is astro turf which was comfortable enough to lie on a towel to sunbathe. There was only one day when we thought it was too busy so we rolled up our towels and went over the road to la'hippo campe, where we had the place to ourselves, although not as impressive as la sirene pool area we still enjoyed being there. We cycled to the beach from the site easily on the cycle paths and followed the coastal path to get back. The kids loved having the bikes although the roads around site can be busy and I don't think I would be happy with them on bikes if they were any younger, I did give the kids a crash course in road safety on day one to discourage them from racing around. Nice little bakery on site to collect baguettes and croissants for breakfast. We never used the restaurant area as the food looked a greasy and there was nothing French about it. We used our gas bbq most evenings after shopping at the intermarche which is only 10 mins away in the car. All accommodation is under a canopy of trees and this helps to control the temperature in caravans and on site however air conditioning is a must which was provided in our van that we hired from Lifestyle holidays.
To sum everything up: Lifestyle provided a good, clean and cool van. The site was great for slightly older kids as they were not constantly being told off. Lots to do and see in the local area including good places to eat or bbq good option. Entertainment was exceptional esp Simba and Grease (get your seats early) The site is busy but I felt that the site coped well. Be careful on the roads whether driving, cycling or walking. Free archery and table tennis.... don't forget your table tennis bats.

Room Tip: Vans located at the back of the park are quieter.

I love this campsite but there are way to many people staying for the size of pools , you can forget about having a decent swim u would be lucky to get wet in it there was hundreds in the pool kids jumping in on top of u swimming under u a nightmare u get out more stressed then u got in, if you have young children trying to mind them in the pool with millions of other kids is very hard. The roads between mobiles are jammed with kids on bikes cars people walking it's an accident waiting to happen the campsite is over r full .the price of drinks in bar crazy 5.60 for a pint of local beer , entertainment Is very good and there is a great atmosphere they need to build more pools and leave less people in we have gone several times but won't go again until it improves

Room Tip: Go off peak high season to over crowded

How this site has achieved 5 star status I really don't know. The campsite is overcrowded with the chalets tightly packed in and the roads round the campsite are narrow and crowded with cars, scooters, children on bikes, pedestrians - it's just an accident waiting to happen. On a number of occasions we saw little kids on bikes nearly being knocked off by cars. The public areas are cramped and look like shacks. We didn't even bother eating in the so-called restaurant because it looked like a tatty old take-away. The road outside is also crowded with streams of traffic all day and most of the evening- so we spent almost all the time off site visiting other areas. The pictures on the website of the pool area do not really reflect what is actually there - they make it look much bigger than it really is.We would definitely not go back because at £1000 per week for a mobile home in high season we expect better than this. AVOID.

Room Tip: Choose another campsite which is safer.
