I am staying here 4 nights and what a dream I am having. Just like you would see from a movie. Great location away from the bussle but lots of cafes nearby.
A warm friendly welcome awaits in a relaxed atmosphere.

We arrived at the Hotel in the early evening after a lovely journey down from Paris by T.G.V. The Hotel is family run, Jean Paul is the host while his brother Is the cook. Their parents also help out along with other members of the family. All the rooms are named after herbs, ours was the Lavender room. The room was very clean and very pretty with French doors and a Juliette balcony from where you got a lovely view of the little garden and Jean Paul's Roses. The breakfast was freshly prepared and very good. The Hotel was located in a quiet position and enclosed by a lovely old stone wall, the family pets were one West Highland Terrier named Easy, two cats and a couple of chickens which kept us entertained. This Hotel was the most friendly relaxing and peaceful place we have stayed at and although our plan had been to visit the sights at Avignon we ended up preferring Villeneuve and visited the sights there. We plan to return next year.

We couldn't fault our one night stay in the Basilic room of this small hotel. The room was simply decorated, spotlessly clean, quiet and had a lovely view of the garden. Jean Paul was a pleasure to deal with both by email and in person. He provided very clear directions to the hotel when asked and we had no difficulty finding it. We parked at the rear of the hotel and this offered us the first glimpse of the lovely gardens and swimming pool. We reserved a table for dinner in the hotel restaurant for that night and armed with a map from Jean Paul we made our way to the bus for the very short trip into the city of Avignon.

Our meal in the restaurant that evening was worth returning for and we can see why the restaurant is so highly recommended by others. The restaurant itself is traditionally decorated and very charming and we had a lovely breakfast there the following morning.

Villeneuve-les-Avignon is such a perfect base for visiting Avignon, it is a pretty village and we enjoyed walking around it before we checked out. It was lovely to return to the hotel after the hustle and bustle of people and traffic in Avignon and we would definitely stay here again.

We stayed in the Lavender room from October 12-14. It was a very good value for the price. Due to construction, it was very difficult to find the hotel. Once we found it, we were able to park off the street for free. it is conveniently located in the village, and is a couple of blocks away from good restaurants. It is a pretty long walk to the Palais of the Popes, though. We used it to travel to other sites in the area, and would recommend it for its central location. The room had an excellent view of the garden, which is beautifully landscaped. We drank a bottle of wine on the deck, under the vines, and loved it. The room was spartan in its appointment. It could have used a second chair at the small table in it. It had a flat screen tv, but no access to English-speaking channels. The wireless internet worked well. The breakfast was very good, and Jean Paul was very accommodating. The restaurant is closed on Sunday. We would stay here again.

Room Tip: There are only 5 rooms.

Even if I've never stayed at Les Jardins de la Livrée, my partner and I regularly return to their restaurant whenever we spend our summer holidays in the Provence. Being a small hotel, they don't have a wide selection of dishes obviously, but the things they have on offer vary every day. They are always freshly made and lovingly prepared and presented. If I had to rate the many dishes I've tasted here, each and every one of them would deserve 4.5 or 5 stars out of a total 5. What adds to the charm of the restaurant are the adorable cats and the small dog that occasionally roam the gardens. I can't wait to return.

This is a most beautiful place. Lovely rooms, overlooking a charming garden.
We visited with our French friends who were equally as impressed as we were.
The breakfast was excellent too.
Jean-Paul is a charming sensitive man. I had to cancel a previous booking last year due to being diagnosed with breast cancer. He wrote me the most beautiful mail wishing me well, it was so sensitive, it actually made me cry, this from someone you have never even met.
He certainly lived up to my expectations as did his entire family, such warm friendly people.
I would thoroughly recommend les Avignon, I actually thought it more interesting than Avignon !
Avignon is only a twenty minute easy walk away, or you can catch a bus. There is so much to see in les Avignon though, don't miss it !

Room Tip: Our two rooms were charming, lavande & basilic
