Breda Murphy also features a standalone delicatessen which serves delicious, natural and seasonal deli plus hot drinks and refreshments available for take-out. The award-winning Breda Murphy Restaurant and Delicatessen has been delighting visitors with modern British and Irish cuisine inspired by the Breda’s home region of County Carlow, and Lancashire’s Ribble Valley since 2006. With Gareth Bevan as head chef, its unmistaken commitment to great food, style and down-to-earth service has won UK awards and many a local friend in the process. Popular dishes include market fish of the day with brown shrimps, Cornish crab salad, roast fillet of Bowland beef and Breda Murphy’s classic fish pie. Complement your dish with one of Breda’s fine wines and spirits found in her extensive Reilly’s Bar wine list. The restaurant also serves breakfast Friday to Sunday and Sunday lunch. The delicatessen offers seasonal deli, light breakfasts, cakes and coffees together with takeout meals and sandwiches. Customers can also place and collect outside catering orders.

Each year we visit Breda Murphy's in Whalley Lancashire. This time for breakfast. You know when something is good when the food arrives, people start to eat and nobody talks, they just keep eating, for our table of 6 people, this is an accomplishment. The breakfast (all that you ever want in a full English breakfast) was 5 star. The bacon, the best I've ever tasted and the sausages, just give me a basket full of them. How the owner manages to keep the standard of culinary delights up year after year is an achievement. Keep up the excellent work!!!!

Had a delicious Friday teatime! The food was excellent as always and the service impeccable. Our children were very welcomed and the staff catered for everything we needed. I would have tea here every Friday if I could!

Not been since the re-furb, but was not disappointed. Fixtures and fittings are tasteful. Food was excellent, have seen some comments on here about expense and portion size, yes you may pay a little more here but the quality shows and portions are more than adequate. Service was attentive but relaxed, the owners always floating around unobtrusively in the background checking everything is running smoothly. I never bother with desert but did here. Just a pannacotta but the skill and care that had gone into it showed there’s some good staff in the kitchen.

We went to Breda Murphys after being bought some vouchers and I can say that we will return.

The whole experience was delightful, the staff exceptionally helpful and friendly - they knew the menu well and could make recommendations. We asked for a dry wine to accompany our meal and they knew the selection well.

If you get chance I recommend that you visit
