“Sheer gastronomic brilliance!”
Reviewed 15 October 2013

We had walked rather dispiritedly around Argelès, fearing that we would find nothing open at lunchtime, then stumbled upon Au Fond du Gosier at the end of an alley. The welcome was superb, the atmosphere was lovely, the surroundings and décor were cosy, and the food was exceptional. Everything was explained to us - in very good English - by the owner, who clearly took great pride in all that her restaurant offered. We would wholeheartedly recommend!

“Brilliant”
Reviewed 24 September 2013 via mobile

The food was fantastic. We were happy with the speed of service, allowing for you to savour the food and wine. The lady who was doing the service was really helpful, able to explain to us what each dish was in English. We would definitely eat here again.

“Nice but slow and poor kids menu”
Reviewed 15 September 2013 via mobile

We visited here on the strength of the tripadvisor reviews. The lady who runs it is very nice but she needs to hire some extra waiting staff. We arrived about 1930 and did not receive our 1st course til 2030. This was at least partly because we weren't given menus for about 20 minutes. It seemed there were insufficient to go around. Also the kids option could do with more than 1 choice (cured ham and boiled potatoes). This notwithstanding, food was very good and atmosphere plesent.

“If you're in Argeles Gazost, you should eat here”
Reviewed 12 September 2013 via mobile

We ended up here because nowhere else in the town looked very appealing and we LOVED it. The food was delicious, service friendly (not hugely fast though as it was busy) and the wine really nice too.
The fare here is rustic with haute cuisine twists and beautifully presented. Don't come here if you're looking for some quick carbs, do come here to explore regional cooking at its best.
