“Great food and service.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 October 2013

We went to M&P for lunch (4 adults and baby) to celebrate our son's 9 month birthday. Staff was very attentive to our needs (micro-waving baby food and even gave us a key to a private hotel room upstairs so we could change the nappy). Food was really tasty and nicely presented. Also great value for money, choose the more expensive option at 30 euros for a 3 course meal but cheaper options are available. Also read some review mentioning the decoration, I can confirm that restaurant is newly decorated and felt fresh/refined with quality cutlery from Laguiole. Will come again :-)

“Comfortable, friendly and very good meal”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 October 2013

We visited Mets et Plaisir already many times with different friends and family and we were never, never disappointed, better say always surprised, by the quality of the meals. Throughout the years !
When you want to be sure to have a table it is strongly recommended to make a reservation.
Price/quality is ok.

“Uneventful. Average in any way”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 September 2013

Food was blend and sauces were heavy. Not much to say about the food except to question whether it was coked on premise? The only positive was the young lady waiting on the tables (all of them). She was fast and very efficient

“Very good, local restaurant”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 September 2013

Pleasantly surprised by the food quality, service and decor from this relatively ordinary looking local hotel/restaurant in the town.

We were welcomed into a comfortable, relaxed dining room and were offered drinks while we perused and asked questions about the various menus offered in the carte. Eventually we settled on the cappucino of mushrooms, a lentil/foie Grasterrine combination and foie gras. All were well received, and rather more so than the rather average bread selection that accompanied some rather average pieces of melon, hummus and a sliced bacon offering. These arrived before the amuse bouche that was a too-creamy mini, cheesy, soupy concoction.

But, the starters were good enough to dispel initial uncertainties. We followed with the quail, tuna and Charolais beef. Again, maybe the dishes were just too rich, but clean plates told their own story.

For reasons beyond me, we were asked to choose desserts right at the start, and, being honest one was full enough that the desserts were just too much -again, not that we did not eat the souffles and mousse. And, these were nicely presented but rich, and as mentioned not needed.

So, you will not do without if you come here and you will feel full and satisfied, if perhaps at least a little bloated, and uneasy about the consequences of such rich food -but maybe we could have made healthier choices.

The place was busy too and had a good atmosphere so one imagine it is good for small, celebratory dinners etc

Overall then very good despite the dull start

“Innovative French Food at an acceptable price.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 April 2013

Three levels of menu, €32 for the middle one. Interesting food, well presented and served. All in all a very pleasant town centre restaurant with a public car park opposite as an extra bonus. We will probably never eat there again as, unusually for rural France, dogs are not accepted.
